Helps readers move beyond the wounds and baggage of bitterness, disagreements, and broken relationships. "True or false: most Christian pastors and counselors agree on what forgiveness is and how it should take place." This question is part of Chris Brauns's Forgiveness Quiz that draws readers into his book and gets them thinking about the subject of forgiveness. The truth is, pastors and counselors disagree profoundly on this subject. Unpacking Forgiveness combines sound theological thinking and honesty about the complicated questions many face to provide readers with a solid understanding of biblical forgiveness. Only God's Word can unpack forgiveness. The wounds are too deep for us to find healing on our own, and the questions are too complex to be unraveled by anything but the wisdom of God. This book goes beyond a feel-good doctrine of automatic forgiveness, balancing the beauty of God's grace and the necessity of forgiveness with the teaching that forgiveness must take place in a way that is consistent with justice.

God gave me this simple but powerful insight: Our word is our bond, Gods Word is His Son. God took His WORD and wrapped it into flesh, and the WORD became alive and dwelt among men (John 1:14). Jesus sacrificed his life so that we would have a right to the tree of life without using animals as a sacrificial offering. God made man several different ways; Adam was made from the dust of the earth, Eve was made with a rib from Adams side, Cain and Able were conceived through Adam and Eve, Jesus Christ is the Word of God, Gods Son was conceived through the Holy Spirit through the Virgin Mary. God wants us as His dear little children, which has been expressed throughout the Bible. We failed Him over and over again, so God sent us His Son to redeem us, His Word to receive us, His blood to wash us, and His Holy spirit to keep us. Gods Word has a powerful effect on our lives. We must meditate both day and night. Whatever you speak and practice is what you become. Moses told us in Deuteronomy 6:7-9, To teach Gods word diligently to our children, talk about it when we sit in our houses and walk by the way. When we rise up, bind them for a sign upon our hand and frontlets between our eyes. David stated, Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. (Psalms 119:11) Eliphaz stated in Job 22:22, Receive, I pray thee, the law from His mouth, and lay up his Words in your heart. God is revealed throughout the scriptures both He and His Son Jesus, from Genesis to Revelation. Many scriptures in the New Testament are repeated from the Old Testament. For example, John the Forerunner of Christ can be found in Isaiah 40:3-5, the birth of Christ, Isaiah 7:14-16, and Christ as the Branch in Isaiah 4:2 and Jeremiah 33:14-15. We must read, listen and study Gods word as instructed in the Holy Scriptures. Subsequently, most of this book, Everybody Ought to Know Who Jesus Is, is written directly from the scriptures. May all of my brothers and sisters of the same faith and other religions be enlightened to our Father God, as He released Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit for us, to be inside of us as the three in one, all inside of God Himself. Amen.

"Our Christian assertion is that there is more to our lives than 'now.' If there is not then even the now is meaningless. But we say now counts. Why? Now counts because we are creatures who have an origin and a destiny which is rooted and grounded in God." --R.C. Sproul ------ There is no such thing as a meaningless moment. Since we're made in God's image and created for His eternal glory, everything we think, say, and do today matters forever. The question is, How should this truth direct our daily lives? For more than forty years, Dr. R.C. Sproul wrote his recurring column in Tabletalk magazine, Right Now Counts Forever, to apply the teachings of the Bible and Reformed theology to everyday life. No topic was off-limits because every part of our lives bears enduring significance. Through the years, Dr. Sproul helped Christians give careful thought to topics in theology and history, politics and current events, relationships and entertainment, and more. In this four-volume collection, hundreds of Dr. Sproul's columns have been brought together for the first time. Written to serve the church, this treasury of theological reflection can help guide believers of all ages to live with eternity in mind and devote all of life to the glory of God.

Since the beginning of the biblical counseling movement in 1970, biblical counselors have argued that counseling is a ministry of the Word, just like preaching or missions. As a ministry, counseling must be defined according to sound biblical theology rather than secular principles of psychology. For over four decades, biblical theology has been at the core of the biblical counseling movement. Leaders in biblical counseling have emphasized a commitment to teaching doctrine in their counseling courses out of the conviction that good theology leads to good counseling…and bad theology leads to bad counseling. A Theology of Biblical Counseling is a landmark new book that covers the history of the biblical counseling movement, the core convictions that underlie sound counseling, and practical wisdom for counseling today. Dr. Heath Lambert shows how biblical counseling is rooted in the Scriptures while illustrating the real challenges counselors face today through true stories from the counseling room. A substantive textbook written in accessible language, it is an ideal resource for use in training biblical counselors at colleges, seminaries, and training institutes. In each chapter, doctrine comes to life in real ministry to real people, dramatically demonstrating how theology intersects with the lives of actual counselees.
