This volume brings forth a set of papers presented at the conference on "Varia tional Inequalities and network equilibrium problems", held in Erice at the "G. Stam pacchia" School of the "E. Variational inequalities proved to be a very useful and powerful tool for in vestigation and solution of many equilibrium type problems in Economics, Engineering, Operations Research and Mathematical Physics.
