Electrons with energies from 10 to 100 keV were measured by an electrostatic analyzer flown on OAR satellite OV3-1 (1966-34A). Spherical quadrants were used to focus the electrons into a thin Pilot B scintillator. The exponential energy parameter (E sub o) and power-law energy parameter (gamma) were determined for electrons mirroring in the auroral zone. For slowly varying precipitation events when K sub p = or> 3, spectra before local midnight were softer than those after local midnight. At high latitudes, enhanced fluxes of electrons were seen only during periods of enhanced magnetic activity. The spectra parameters did not seem to depend upon K sub p. (Author).
