This collection of micro didactics is dissimilar to all collections that have come before it. It is the product of competing in two college literary contests and the taking of a writing course. The contests were at Lamar State College in Beaumont Texas and Eastfield College in Mesquite Texas. Also a writing course offered by the Long Ridge Writers Group. These were the reasons these works were created, but what of the sources? Its sources are as diverse as random chance will allow. They are life experiences that have merged with the learning experiences in the bizarre imagination of the author and tempered with elements from deep within. Two Faces of Beauty may well be called a multigenre work, but still major differences exist with this work. Not just being microdidactic, that is, the most possible information and instructions compressed into the fewest possible words, but the common threads that run through the entire book from work to work regardless of the genre. No matter, short story, essay, autobiographical, or poetry, the threads are there, the threads of duality, justice, poetic or otherwise, and truth. This truth transcends mere research, though research is critical in any story, fiction or nonfiction. I speak here of truth reflected by the world in which we live. These works are wide-ranging and will take the reader from the mountaintops of the human experience to the depths of despair with many stops in between the two.

Maybe it was an error for crime reporter Maggie Cloete to ignore the call from the AIDS worker, before someone put four bullets in his chest. It is post-apartheid South Africa, at the turn of the century. But there is a threat to the country's new democracy: HIV/AIDS, which is met with fear and superstition. Now that fear has reached Pietermaritzburg and an AIDS activist is dead. Maggie's instincts are on red alert. Despite threats from politicians and gangsters, she learns too much about Balthasar's life and his work at the AIDS Mission to be distant and professional. She is deeply, and dangerously, involved. Balthasar's Gift continues the tradition of pacy, hard-boiled South African crime fiction.

"He Raped. . . Altemio Sanchez was a modern-day Jekyll and Hyde—a family man who resided in Buffalo, New York, with a wife and two sons, worked nights as a machinist, and concealed a terrible secret. Once a year, after his shift, he'd make a side trip to a secluded spot where women would ride bikes and jog. He was called ""The Bike Path Rapist""—until he crossed the line from rape to murder. He Killed. . . For fourteen years, the Bike Path Killer mercilessly raped and murdered his prey, eluding police every step of the way. Then, the killings stopped. People wondered whether he'd left town, had been locked up in prison for another crime, or maybe even died. But when another woman's corpse with the same lethal signature surfaced, authorities knew the Bike Path Killer was back. And He Almost Got Away With It. Now, for the first time, two award-winning reporters follow a depraved killer's bloody trail of terror to the bitter end: his horrifying confession. . . Includes 16 pages of shocking photos. "

Becoming Conscious, My Awakening is a true account of my struggles to achieve my personal goal of getting a Green Card for me and my children. It chronicles my journey from Poverty in British Guyana, to abundance in America. My Spiritual teachers Jesus, Dr Deepak Chopra and Dr Wayne Dwyer taught me that we are all co-creators of our life. Life is what you make it. As a man thinketh so is he. The law of intention and Jesus teaches us that faith, belief and action can allows us to transcend any of life situations by just harnessing the power of our thoughts. Dr Deepak Chopra teachings about the laws of Synchrodestiny, the study that teaches that every moment is as it should be and that every situation is predestined. My book is a powerful testimony about the Glory of God and harnessing the powers of the Universe to achieve all your goals and desires of the heart. The coincidence of getting a free ticket to a seminar blossomed into me starting a successful business; the coincidence of me parking my limousine in the church parking lot, transformed into me being saved and washed in the blood of Jesus; the coincidence of me being in the right places at the right times transformed into this story. This book is a powerful testament of the statement What you think about, you bring about It is a powerful testimony of the principle of Jesus teachings on the faith of the mustard seed and if you believe, all things are possible. Sarah Kane was one of the landmark playwrights of 1990s Britain, her influence being felt across UK and European theatre. This is the first book to focus exclusively on Kane's unique approach to mind and mental health. It offers an important re-evaluation of her oeuvre, revealing the relationship between theatre and mind which lies at the heart of her theatrical project. Drawing on performance theory, psychoanalysis and neuroscience, this book argues that Kane's innovations generate a 'dramaturgy of psychic life', which re-shapes the encounter between stage and audience. It uses previously unseen archival material and contemporary productions to uncover the mechanics of this innovative theatre practice. Through a radically open-ended approach to dramaturgy, Kane's works offer urgent insights into mental suffering that take us beyond traditional discourses of empathy and mental health and into a profound rethinking of theatre as a mode of thought. As such, her theatre can help us to understand debates about mental suffering today.

For the first time in one place, Roger M. Sobin has compiled a list of nominees and award winners of virtually every mystery award ever presented. He has also included many of the “best of” lists by more than fifty of the most important contributors to the genre.; Mr. Sobin spent more than two decades gathering the data and lists in this volume, much of that time he used to recheck the accuracy of the material he had collected. Several of the “best of” lists appear here for the first time in book form. Several others have been unavailable for a number of years.; Of special note, are Anthony Boucher’s “Best Picks for the Year.” Boucher, one of the major mystery reviewers of all time, reviewed for The San Francisco Chronicle, Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, and The New York Times. From these resources Mr. Sobin created “Boucher’s Best” and “Important Lists to Consider,” lists that provide insight into important writing in the field from 1942 through Boucher’s death in 1968.? This is a great resource for all mystery readers and collectors.; ; Winner of the 2008 Macavity Awards for Best Mystery Nonfiction.
