Timmy Tortuga is a cute, fascinating story about a wild Florida box turtle, who was injured and wandered into my life seven years ago. This electronic book has many amazingly wonderful videos and pictures of Timmy Tortuga throughout and is fun for people of all ages to view but especially mesmerizes young children. The pictures and videos capture his eating habits, mischievous adventures, natural characteristics, and surroundings, as this wonderful creature freely roams around our backyard as he wishes. I invite you to join me for a fun recap of the time Timmy has spent with us over the last seven years by reading this e-book, which visually illustrates the rehabilitation of his injuries, as well as the fun times my family had feeding him, watching him, or helping him out of precarious situations. Kids, even toddlers, and babies especially enjoy the many pictures and videos, often finding the videos astonishing. Timmy Tortuga (Tortuga is the Spanish word for turtle) offers an opportunity for people of all ages to become engaged and involved in a feel-good story in which to learn about the Florida box turtle. At the end of this story, there is an interactive social media-based voting questionnaire to elicit your feedback if you desire, and you will be asked over your favorite social media platform to submit responses to a few questions about certain aspects of Timmy’s life to show my audience user friendly graphs of the tallies of these responses (only if you feel inclined to do so). Enjoy this multimedia eBook as much as I did making it!

Alexander Springs in Florida has amazing clear underwater environments with fish. I shot this underwater footage in breathtaking 4K & 1K Videos and Pictures (UHD & HD)! One of the coolest things you will experience in diving in such clear water is not only a good view of the spring boil itself, the creatures that adorn the springs, and the underwater “landscape” / “seascape”; but very cool light and mirroring phenomena one observes from snorkeling in this absolutely crystal clear spring water in Alexander Springs. It plays with your mind seeing below objects clearly on the underbelly/undercarriage of the spring waters often still surface. Underwater objects and the underwater ambient light is seen as a mirrored image projected on the underside of the surface water’s plane. I gained my knowledge of light physics predominantly at Cornell University and IHS, further at the University of Georgia during graduate school, and especially at film and movie production school at Daytona State College during my last college’s video and visual light explorations.

Timothy made his first appearance in the nation's history when he was a ship's mascot in the Crimean War in 1854. After a long naval career, he retired for a quieter life on land and was given to the Earl of Devon in 1892. From then until his untimely death in April 2004, he lived in Powderham Castle where he was much loved by family and visitors alike. Lady Gabrielle Courtenay, now 91, looked after him for the second half of his life, and she recalls the great stories and escapades involving Timothy: how he got drunk on azalea blossom, and how the family had to buy a special tortoise train ticket for him when they went on their holidays in the 1920s. Timothy's story is not just the tale of a remarkable tortoise, it is a social history of the last century and a half. Rory Knight Bruce has spoken to all those who knew him best, from the Devons to the aged retainers at the castle who looked after him. He was a symbol of continuity, and this is a warm and nostalgic account of the life he lived.

Hope for the Flowers: A must read during this time of the corona virus and civil unrest in 2020. Caterpillars, Butterflies, Life & a real Hope Revolution THE WORLD HAS BEEN COCOONING; LET US EMERGE WITH HOPE. We have all lived through months of strange relationships with ourselves and the world around us. Virtual gatherings have become the norm, while the pain, uncertainty and injustice goes on. What will our new normal possibly become? What new work? How can we do our part to heal the world from whatever limited space we have? How can our United States truly be one nation under God with liberty and JUSTICE FOR ALL? “What might I do to help others during this global crisis? Is likely still your question as well as still mine. I will continue to offer my e-book for $2.99 with my hope that it can strengthen hope and courage in each of you and your children. We will need all we can get! If inspired, please join our Facebook group - Hope (For the Flowers) Revolution. Maybe we can inspire each other to build the better world that's possible. My hope for us is that, like our caterpillar heroes, Stripe and Yellow, we transform in the darkness of the cocoon to something new and totally unexpected. May we each find a way to use this time of darkness to light the way to justice and peace in the world. May we discover our own new beauty as we discover the beauty in our differences. May we each discover our purpose and live with passion this thing called life, while we still can. “How does one become a butterfly” Yellow asks pensively. “You must want to fly so much That you are willing to give up being a caterpillar.” I can't think of anything more transformational and radical than the change that happens when a lowly caterpillar worm becomes a flying beautiful butterfly. And it doesn't end with flying! They find their true purpose, to carry the pollen of love from one flower to another and receive in return the sweet nectar that keeps them alive. What wondrous exchange! Sharing is the answer to so much! I'm so grateful the story seems to reach every culture, and over 3 million have loved and shared the paper version in English and countless more in other languages for 50 years. May each of us and the world flourish after this strange dark cocoon of isolation.
