Biography of Thomas Jefferson Rusk who was born 5 December 1803 near Walhalla, South Carolina. He was the son of John Rusk who immigrated to America from Ireland ca. 1791. Thomas married Mary F. Cleveland who was the daughter of Ben Cleveland. They lived in Texas and were the parents of six sons and one daughter. Descendants lived primarily in Texas.
