Stefano Fortemani is starting over. The eldest of four, he’s always led by example—business school, marriage, homeownership, and now… divorce. He spends his days managing the family’s vineyard, listening to self-help podcasts, and lamenting his gray hair. He should be moving on like his ex-wife. Unfortunately, he has no idea how. Avery Ellis, event planner, widow, and single mom, has learned the hard way to find the flowers among the weeds. When her best friend taps Avery for wedding planner and maid of honor, she’s thrilled. Until she learns the best man is none other than the fiancé’s prickly, albeit sexy, silver fox of an older brother. As the two work together to create a magical wedding day on the Fortemani vineyard, one-word spats, sweet wine, and unexpected fun lead to glimpses of shared passion, purpose, and old wounds. But, just as Stefano embraces the silver lining of his clouded past, Avery harbors a new secret that could change everything. Will these two guarded hearts open up to let love in again?

All Lady Victoria Kirby wants is to dig in the dirt, take notations, and record history. What she doesn’t desire is having to bumble through ballrooms and tolerate the ton’s sly insinuations about her less-than-acceptable appearance. Victoria wasn’t certain what her rather reckless father has in mind for her future. But she certainly isn’t expecting him to gamble her hand in marriage—and lose. After all he witnessed as a child, the Duke of Chase cannot bear to see a woman misused. So when the marquess wagers away his daughter to a lecher of a man, he has no choice but to step in and rescue her. Lady Victoria has a reputation for being as tart as a lemon. He might just have found the perfect wife to keep his age-old promise to never sire an heir. Surely he’d never be tempted to take this lady to bed... Then the duke meets the wild, witty, and intelligent young lady he’s bound to marry. Now trouble is certainly headed his way, and she won’t just threaten the very vow he swore to keep...she might just undo his heart, too. Named one of the most anticipated books of 2022 by EW, Oprah Daily, Marie Claire, Goodreads and Bookpage! The USA Today bestselling author of The Worst Best Man is back with a hilarious rom-com about two strangers who get trapped in a lie and have to fake date their way out of it... Just weeks away from ditching DC for greener pastures, Solange Pereira is roped into helping her wedding planner cousin on a random couple’s big day. It’s an easy gig... until Solange stumbles upon a situation that convinces her the pair isn’t meant to be. What’s a true-blue romantic to do? Crash the wedding, of course. And ensure the unsuspecting groom doesn’t make the biggest mistake of his life. Dean Chapman had his future all mapped out. He was about to check off “start a family” and on track to “make partner” when his modern day marriage of convenience went up in smoke. Then he learns he might not land an assignment that could be his ticket to a promotion unless he has a significant other and, in a moment of panic, Dean claims to be in love with the woman who crashed his wedding. Oops. Now Dean has a whole new item on his to-do list: beg Solange to be his pretend girlfriend. Solange feels a tiny bit bad about ruining Dean’s wedding, so she agrees to play along. Yet as they fake-date their way around town, what started as a performance for Dean’s colleagues turns into a connection that neither he nor Solange can deny. Their entire romance is a sham... there’s no way these polar opposites could fall in love for real, right? "Mia Sosa... is genuinely a master of the modern romance novel." — Cosmopolitan

Seven essays celebrating the beauty of the imperfect marriage. We hear plenty about whether or not to get married, but much less about what it takes to stay married. Clichés around marriage—eternal bliss, domestic harmony, soul mates—leave out the real stuff. After marriage you may still want to sleep with other people. Sometimes your partner will bore the hell out of you. And when stuck paying for your spouse’s mistakes, you might miss being single. In Wedding Toasts I’ll Never Give, Ada Calhoun presents an unflinching but also loving portrait of her own marriage, opening a long-overdue conversation about the institution as it truly is: not the happy ending of a love story or a relic doomed by high divorce rates, but the beginning of a challenging new chapter of which “the first twenty years are the hardest.” Calhoun’s funny, poignant personal essays explore the bedrooms of modern coupledom for a nuanced discussion of infidelity, existential anxiety, and the many other obstacles to staying together. Both realistic and openhearted, Wedding Toasts I’ll Never Give offers a refreshing new way to think about marriage as a brave, tough, creative decision to stay with another person for the rest of your life. “What a burden,” Calhoun calls marriage, “and what a gift.”

A wild, sexy, and heart-filled adventure of two strangers who meet in the most unlikely of places. This laugh out loud and heartwarming romantic comedy from bestselling author Meghan Quinn will keep you on the edge of your feet as you fall in love with the second book in the Dating by Numbers Series. **CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE** I don't know what love is anymore. Well, that's not entirely true, but I'm going to tell you a little secret: I've lost the spark. You know the kind of spark I'm talking about? Where butterflies take flight in your stomach from two hands innocently colliding. Or catching your breath when you first meet someone attractive. Yeah, that spark. Except I haven't felt that feeling in forever; there is nothing left inside of me. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem--but I'm a writer on a serious deadline, and my editor is breathing down my neck for a romantic, Nicholas Sparks type love story. No pressure, right? That's how I find myself flying across the country to crash a wedding in the name of research, dress and heels stuffed into my small suitcase. It should be the easiest book research ever. Drinking some free champagne, basking in the love of two strangers, and tapping into my romantic side. That'll be a breeze. I'm a pro. I can handle this. Until I mistakenly end up in the wrong hotel room, naked as the day I was born, with the sexiest human I have ever met staring me down, wondering what I'm doing taking a shower in his bathroom. I don't think calling it "research" will get me out of this mess. But it will make for one hell of a story.

In The Wedding Complex Elizabeth Freeman explores the significance of the wedding ceremony by asking what the wedding becomes when you separate it from the idea of marriage. Freeman finds that weddings—as performances, fantasies, and rituals of transformation—are sites for imagining and enacting forms of social intimacy other than monogamous heterosexuality. Looking at the history of Anglo-American weddings and their depictions in American literature and popular culture from the antebellum era to the present, she reveals the cluster of queer desires at the heart of the "wedding complex"—longings not for marriage necessarily but for public forms of attachment, ceremony, pageantry, and celebration. Freeman draws on queer theory and social history to focus on a range of texts where weddings do not necessarily lead to legal marriage but instead reflect yearnings for intimate arrangements other than long-term, state-sanctioned, domestic couplehood. Beginning with a look at the debates over gay marriage, she proceeds to consider literary works by Nathaniel Hawthorne, William Faulkner, Carson McCullers, Vladimir Nabokov, and Edgar Allan Poe, along with such Hollywood films as Father of the Bride, The Graduate, and The Godfather. She also discusses less well-known texts such as Su Friedrich’s experimental film First Comes Love and the off-Broadway, interactive dinner play Tony ‘n’ Tina’s Wedding. Offering bold new ways to imagine attachment and belonging, and the public performance and recognition of social intimacy, The Wedding Complex is a major contribution to American studies, queer theory, and cultural studies.

How to Go Steady explores love, heartbreak, and wisdom from vintage romance comic book stories and advice columns. Romance comics were a genre of comic books that were incredibly popular in the postwar years. The first true romance title, Young Romance, was created by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby (the same creative team behind Captain America) in 1947. The genre exploded like wildfire and for years sold more copies than superhero titles. Romance comics contained stories of love and lots of heartbreak. In this history book meets how-to guide you'll learn all about dating according to romance comic books of the 1960s and 1970s. Chapters delve into how to meet potential dates, etiquette, coping with jealousy and heartbreak, meeting parents, sex, and of course, the do's and don'ts surrounding going steady. Not only will you learn everything from what to do with a borrowed hankie to how to make the first move, you'll learn how to develop the most attractive quality of all-the confidence to be yourself. Historical anecdotes and practical tips told in a fun and accessible way make How to Go Steady the perfect read for comic book fans and non-comic fans alike, as well as those looking for love.
