The Pocket 1582 Rheims New Testament is taken from the Original and True Douay Rheims Bible of 1610, transliterated into modern Latin type by Dr. William G. von Peters. This is not a Challoner translation, so often falsely sold as the Douay Rheims, but the REAL Douay Rheims. Nor is it the modernist Knox translation. It has been transliterated from its original 1582 Old English script into our modern English Latin script, with word spellings updated without any changes in words or syntax. The REAL Douay Rheims Bible is the original and true rendition of the Latin Vulgate of St. Jerome circa A.D. 400 from the earliest manuscripts extant into English by the English divines at Rheims and Douay without accretions, deletions, or political correctness. As such, it is the true Word of God.

The Gospels and Psalms are taken from the Original and True Douay Rheims of 1610. This is the REAL Douay Rheims Bible, not the Challoner translation falsely sold as the Douay Rheims. It is without the extensive marginal notes and annotations for daily scriptural readings. This is a faithful rendition of St. Jerome's Latin Vulgate, from the earliest extant manuscripts now unavailable, into modern English type without accretions, deletions, or political correctness. It was accepted by the Church as the official Bible in English.

This volume maps Shakespearean virtue in all its plasticity and variety, providing thirty-eight succinct, wide-ranging essays that reveal a breadth and diversity exceeding any given morality or code of behaviour. Clearly explaining key concepts in the history of ethics and in classical, theological, and global virtue traditions, the collection reveals their presence in the works of Shakespeare in interpersonal, civic, and ecological scenes of action. Paying close attention to individual identity and social environment, chapters also consider how the virtuous horizons broached in Shakespearean drama have been tested anew by the plays' global travels and fresh encounters with different traditions. Including sections on global wisdom, performance and pedagogy, this handbook affirms virtue as a resource for humanistic education and the building of human capacity.

This is the original and true Rheims New Testament published by the English College in Rheims in 1582. It has been "lost" for over 400 years due its being in old English. Dr. William G. von Peters has transliterated the text into modern English. Its copious marginal notes and voluminous annotations make it a superb study bible with references from the Apostles, Fathers of the Church and Saints. The Douay Rheims Bible was not produced for sectarian reasons but to present the true Word of God to the English people, and so it is called a "slavish", i.e., literal, translation; rather than one which seeks to sugar coat, gloss over, or hide the real text and meanings. Its copious marginal notes and voluminous annotations explaining the Bible text, make it a superb study bible. It contains references from the Apostles, Fathers of the Church and Saints, giving the text a ready insight into the dogmas and teaching of the Church from the time of Christ to the present.

Ray, a former Evangelical Protestant and Bible teacher, goes through the Scriptures and the first five centuries of the Church to demonstrate that the early Christians had a clear understanding of the primacy of Peter in the see of Rome. He tackles the tough issues in an attempt to expose how the opposition is misunderstanding the Scriptures and history. He uses many Protestant scholars and historians to support the Catholic position. This book contains the most complete compilation of Scriptural and Patristic quotations on the primacy of Peter and the Papal office of any book available. It has over 500 footnotes with supporting evidence from Catholic, Orthodox, Evangelical, and non-Christian authorities.
