Jacob Shearer was born 9 January 1744 in York County, Pennsylvania. His parents were Jacob Shearer and Catherine. He married Elizabeth, daughter of Carl Adam Diehl and Marie Elizabeth Ehrhardt, in 1774. They had five children. He died 29 January 1823 in Mapleton, Ohio. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
