A large proportion of the power which is in dependently produced is incident to a few rather large factories; the great bulk of. The small users, as well as a number of large ones, derive their power from the central station. A very large proportion of the power used, especially in Hartford, is supplied as alternating current. The relatively large amount of electric power now used and the rapidity with which the electric service from the central stations has increased during the past few years show that electric power has proved very acceptable to manufacturing concerns.
