This volume is the first to contain all of Rosa Luxemburg's eloquent writings on the 1917 Russian and 1918-19 German revolutions. Also contained here are articles, essays, and manuscripts on the European socialist movement prior to World War I and on her efforts to rebuild the socialist movement on revolutionary foundations in its aftermath. Much of this material appears in English for the first time. Luxemburg's contributions on revolutionary strategy and the transition to socialism reveal a profound commitment to radical democracy, which becomes evident as she elaborates on her lived experience with razor-sharp conceptualizations of the mass strike. Her democratic commitment is also highlighted in her deepening conflict with the bureaucratic conservatism afflicting the German Social Democratic Party. She is horrified yet, at the same time, grimly analytical while surveying the unfolding violence and brutality of World War I. Deeply inspired by Russia's 1917 upsurge, she is nonetheless compelled to analyze and criticize fatal limitations of the Russian Revolution. Swept up in the revolutionary chaos sweeping through Germany in 1918-19, which results in her own martyrdom, she gives voice on the eve of her assassination to the revolution's final testament: "I was, I am, I shall be."

The Complete Works of Mao Zedong is a multi-book collection of every writing Mao Zedong produced, from the directions he gave his troops and party members to the letters and commentary he wrote before and during his time as Chair of the Chinese Communist Party. I decided to put this series together when I realized no-one has attempted to make a "complete works" series, most books only cover selected works and leave out the more mundane writings, especially those pertaining to party direction and observations. I've also included any speeches and interviews that Mao had with local and international press. The entirety of these writings are available online but if you're anything like me you want a physical book, not only because of the unparalleled feeling of having a physical book but also for the ability to highlight and write notes in the margins. The Third Volume covers the years between 1938 and 1941 . I initially hoped to include all the writings in a single book but publishing restraints and the sheer multitude of writings and speeches limited my options. I hope that this book finds you well and that it can be useful in better understanding one of the most impactful leaders of the 20th century. Works included in this volume: On Protracted War The Role Of The Chinese Communist Party In The National War The Question Of Independence And Initiative Within The United Front We Are For Roosevelt And Against Chamberlain The May Fourth Movement The Orientation Of The Youth Movement To Be Attacked By The Enemy Is Not A Bad Thing But A Good Thing Oppose Capitulationist Activity The Reactionaries Must Be Punished Interview With A New China Daily Correspondent On The New International Situation The Second Imperialist War Interview with Three Correspondents From The Central News Agency The Identity Of Interests Between The Soviet Union And All Mankind Introducing The Communist Youth Needs Experiance The Current Situation And The Party's Tasks Recruit Large Numbers Of Intellectuals The Chinese Revolution And the Chinese Communist Party Stalin, Friend Of The Chinese People In Memory Of Norman Bethune Overcome The Danger Of Capitulation And Strive For A Turn For The Better Unite All Anti-Japanese Forces And Combat The Anti-Communist Die-Hards Ten Demands On The Kuomintang Introducing The Chinese Worker We Must Stress Unity And Progress New-Democratic Constitutional Government On The Question Of Political Power In The Anti-Japanese Base Areas Current Problems Of Tactics In The Anti-Japanese United Front Freely Expand The Anti-Japanese Forces And Resist The Onslaughts Of The Anti Communist Die-Hards Unity To The Very End On Policy Order And Statement On The Southern Anhwei Incident The Situation After The Repulse Of The Second Anti-Communist Onslaught Conclusions On The Repulse Of The Second Anti-Communist Onslaught

The Understanding of Faith (1974) is certainly Schillebeeckx's most incisive English publication on theological hermeneutics. It contains his principal ideas on this subject, in which he progressively evolved the hermeneutic thinking that he was to apply in due course in his famous Jesus books. The book centres on two issues: how should the Christian message of God's kingdom be read in our day and age, and can a present-day interpretation of that message still be considered Christian? In short, what are the possibilities and limits of the understanding of faith in our modern age? Of course, hermeneutics as such was not new to Christian theology. Exegetes had been exploring interpretive processes for some time. Schillebeeckx's innovation was to extend hermeneutic thinking to the possibilities and limits of interpreting the entire Christian tradition, including its definition in systematic theology. Inspired by the early Jürgen Habermas's 'new critical theory', Schillebeeckx also expands criticism of ideology in various directions. This was to influence generations of theologians after him, right up the present day.
