Excerpt: ...at Chapel Hill, Lincolnshire, having ueen put in substantial repair by the ('urate of the parish, with the assistance of voluntary contributions, a sermon was preached on Sunday, 23d of June, by the Rev. John Havocs, M.A., of Coningsby, late Fellow of Clare Hall, in aid of tlio funds for defraying the expenses incurred thereby, when the sum of 0/, 18s, was collected. Faringdon.--On the 29th of May last the newlyerected church in the hamlet of Littloworth, in the parish of Faringdon, Berks, was consecrated by the Bishop of Oxford, who immediately after also consecrated the church-yard attached to the same. Prayers were read by the curate, the Rev. J. Moore, M.A., and the sermon was preached by the Rev. R L. Cotton, D.D., Provost of Worcester College. The church was crowded, not only with the inhabitants of the village, but the neighbouring clergy and gentry. A handsome collation was provided on the occasion at Wadley House, the seat of T. M. Goodlake, Esq., of which most of the clergy and gentry present partook. The expenses of the building and endowment have been defrayed mostly by the munificent contributions of Oriel College, aided by those of many pious individuals who have taken an interest in the extension of the blessings of our Church to this hitherto spiritually-neglected hamlet.--Oxford Herald.
