He married in Germany sometime prior to the year 1832 and immigrated to America with his wife and two children ca. 1834. They settled in Baltimore, Maryland. After the death of his first wife, he married Christiana Fisher 17 October 1847. Christoph was the father of five sons and six daughters. Descendants lived in Maryland, Texas, Washington and elsewhere.
