In their attempt to seek refuge with the Black Sun's opposition organization, the Brigade Apostate, Sam and Nina are pressed with the task of locating the missing leader of the Black Sun and delivering her within a designated time frame. If they do not, three of their friends will be executed. The council, upper-level members of the Black Sun, is also seeking the missing leader, Renata, and the members have a good idea that billionaire Dave Purdue might be harboring her since he kidnapped her after defecting from their ranks. While Sam and Nina are looking for Renata, they team up with Dave Purdue and his sister, Agatha, to assist in locating an ancient journal for Agatha's clients. But the journal holds more than historical value. Its riddles contain the location of the Atlantis Scrolls, the actual records on which the location of the legendary submerged continent is mentioned. As the four of them progress in finding clues, Agatha learns that her clients are not who they seem and that her brother and his friends are in far more danger than they know. Now Sam and Nina have to uncover the secrets of the Atlantis Scrolls while evading the council and appeasing the Brigade Apostate. Will they be able to save their friends before being detained or killed? Or will they find the lost continent of Atlantis in their pursuit of truth locked in the papyrus of ancient history? A spellbinding blend of history and science, scholarship and speculation, this landmark work presents startling new evidence that traces archaeology's most enduring mysteries back to the lost civilization of Atlantis.... The Great Pyramid. Stonehenge. Machu Picchu. For centuries, these and other sacred sites have inspired wonder among those who ponder their origins. Conventional science tells us they were constructed by local peoples working with the primitive tools of a fledgling civilization. But these megaliths nonetheless continue to attract pilgrims, scholars, and adventurers drawn by the possibility that their true spiritual and technological secrets remain hidden. Who could have built these elaborate monuments? How did they do it? And what were their incomprehensible efforts and sacrifices designed to accomplish? Now comes a revolutionary theory that connects these mysteries to reveal a hidden global pattern -- the ancient work of an advanced civilization whose warnings of planetary cataclysm now reverberate across one hundred millennia. International bestselling author Colin Wilson and Canadian researcher Rand Flem-Ath join forces to share startling evidence of a fiercely intelligent society dating back as much as 100,000 years -- one that sailed the oceans of the world, building monuments to preserve and communicate its remarkable wisdom. The Atlantis Blueprint is their term for a sophisticated network of connections between these sacred sites that they trace to Atlantis: a sophisticated maritime society that charted the globe from its home base in Antarctica ... until it was obliterated by the devastating global changes it anticipated but could not escape. Here is adventure to realms beyond our imaginings ... to shifting poles, changing latitudes ... into the world of ancient mariners who recharted the globe ... to astonishing discoveries about our ancestors. Here are the great mysteries ... the incredibly complex geography of the Temple of Luxor ... the startling sophistication of Egyptian science and math ... and tantalizing similarities among the Hebrew, Greek, and Mayan alphabets to the Chinese lunar zodiac. The Atlantis Blueprint opens up a Pandora's box of ancient mysteries, lost worlds, and millennial riddles. It is a story as controversial, fascinating, dangerous -- and inspiring -- as any ever told.

This is the account of an American teenager who discovered a monastery in Tibet that was the inspiration for the legend of Shangri La. It might be categorized as a 'new age' or philosophy book, like the Celestine Prophecy, since it focuses on his spiritual training and their teachings in a novel-like format. Hard to believe, but interestingly, the sub-tropical region amongst the Himalayas that he describes finding, was later documented by explorers from National Geographic, then 'covered up' (there is still evidence of this). Also interesting is that the author was apparently mentioned in the Edgar Cayce readings (the famous American psychic whose books have sold millions of copies), as someone who would one day bring an important message to the world.
