From a Black Ops veteran and author of Deep Cover, a military thriller about a retired CIA agent forced back into action by a lethal conspiracy. Once a trained killer for the CIA, Dan Morgan has built a new life for himself. But when he receives a desperate plea from his former Black Ops partner—reportedly killed in a foreign battle zone—he flies to help. It should be a routine mission, extracting a human asset from the region. But it's not routine; it's an ambush. Now Morgan is running for his life, holding crucial evidence. With his contacts dead and family in danger, Morgan must take on a full-scale conspiracy in the highest echelons of a vast global network that plays by its own rules—when it suits them. For Dan Morgan, it’s about to come to an end in Washington, D.C., on a national stage, in the crosshairs of a killer… “A must-read thriller of torture, assassination, and double agents, where nothing is as it seems.”—Jon Renaud, author of Dereliction of Duty “A high-powered thriller…tense and terrifying!”—Hank Phillippi Ryan, USA Today–bestselling author of The First to Lie “An outstanding thriller that rings with authenticity.”—John Gilstrap, New York Times – bestselling author of Hellfire

Following on from a consultation paper (Consultation paper 174; ISBN 0117302562) published in January 2004, this report contains proposals for reform of the law regarding the termination of a tenancy during its term, by a landlord, due to the tenant having broken the terms of the tenancy agreement. It sets out, in the form of a draft Bill, a new statutory scheme for the termination of tenancies, including a new concept of 'tenant default', to replace the current law of forfeiture. The proposed scheme would define the circumstances in which a landlord may seek to terminate a tenancy early, require the landlord to warn the tenant of the impending action by giving a written notice, and confers enhanced protection on those with interests deriving out of the tenancy. The report is divided into eight parts with three appendices, and issues considered include: problems with the current law of forfeiture of tenancies and the case for reform; the various components of the proposed scheme, including the concept of tenant default and the stages of a landlord's 'termination claim'; and the role of the court.

New York Times Bestseller From Neal Stephenson—who coined the term “metaverse” in his 1992 novel Snow Crash—comes a sweeping, prescient new thriller that transports readers to a near-future world in which the greenhouse effect has inexorably resulted in a whirling-dervish troposphere of superstorms, rising sea levels, global flooding, merciless heat waves, and virulent, deadly pandemics. “Stephenson is one of speculative fiction’s most meticulous architects. . . . Termination Shock manages to pull off a rare trick, at once wildly imaginative and grounded.” — New York Times Book Review One man—visionary billionaire restaurant chain magnate T. R. Schmidt, Ph.D.—has a Big Idea for reversing global warming, a master plan perhaps best described as “elemental.” But will it work? And just as important, what are the consequences for the planet and all of humanity should it be applied? Ranging from the Texas heartland to the Dutch royal palace in the Hague, from the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas to the sunbaked Chihuahuan Desert, Termination Shock brings together a disparate group of characters from different cultures and continents who grapple with the real-life repercussions of global warming. Ultimately, it asks the question: Might the cure be worse than the disease? Epic in scope while heartbreakingly human in perspective, Termination Shock sounds a clarion alarm, ponders potential solutions and dire risks, and wraps it all together in an exhilarating, witty, mind-expanding speculative adventure.
