J wrote this book, Im Still a Young Man several years ago. It laid on the shelf for quite some time. Then one day I had a bad incident happen to me. I passed out and had to have a defibralator on my chest to revive me. God gave me more time to do what He wanted me to do. He gave me inspiration to live. I realized that perhaps my book that had lain on the shelf for so long could be a tool for young men to know that while everyone may not be successful in all things they do, they should not result to violent crimes, early suicide, teenage pregnancy and any other horrible criminal acts. We should excise determination in finding a path to our goals. In addition to that, we should excise lifting each other up in love. When you give up your life or take someone elses life, you get zero in life. We cant keep losing our young men. Read this book and see that everyone has obstacles in their life. Thank God again and again. My inspirations come from Sebrena, Stevie and Shaun.

The bestselling book The Measure of a Man continues to impact millions of men around the world, but it has long been author Gene Getz's dream to bring that message to young men who are still in the process of finding their identities. When his son, Kenton, was in junior high, Gene wrote a\ series of letters to him based on 1 Timothy 4:12: ''Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.'' Out of that verse, Gene drew seven principles that he hoped would inspire Kenton to become a young man of faith, strength and godly purpose. Gene and his son, who is now a father of five, have teamed up to share these principles with young men and their families. The Measure of a Young Man challenges readers to find their identity in Christ and to set a high standard for themselves in words, in daily living, in loving others, in growing faith and in sexuality. It also encourages young men to reach out to a network of fathers, grandfathers, youth pastors and Christian peers who will support their growth to faithful, godly maturity.

Confessions of a Young Man (1888) is a memoir by George Moore. Originally written in French, it is a record of his life in Paris as a young man with money and dreams to spare. Controversial for its depictions of bohemianism and pointed critique of Victorian morality, Confessions of a Young Man has been recognized as an invaluable portrait of nineteenth century Paris and the geniuses who struggled to reshape art in their image. Degas. Renoir. Monet. Zola. Their names are now immortal, instant reminders of their influence on the visual and literary arts. In the 1870s, however, and throughout their lifetimes, they were artists struggling to hone their craft and gain recognition for their work. Into their world came the young George Moore, an Irishman who thought he was a painter and would eventually make his own name as a pioneering modernist writer. In Confessions of a Young Man, he offers his experience and impressions of bohemian life in Paris, a place where the temptations of flesh, drugs, and alcohol led many a young artist astray. In this murky world, he will draw inspiration for his groundbreaking stories and novels in the realist style. With a beautifully designed cover and professionally typeset manuscript, this edition of George Moore’s Confessions of a Young Man is a classic of Irish literature reimagined for modern readers.

For fans of The Wager and Mutiny on the Bounty comes a thrilling true tale of power, obsession, and betrayal at the edge of the world. In 1808, an American merchant ship happened upon an uncharted island in the South Pacific and unwittingly solved the biggest nautical mystery of the era: the whereabouts of a band of fugitives who, after seizing their vessel, had disappeared into the night with their Tahitian companions. Pitcairn Island was the perfect hideaway from British authorities, but after nearly two decades of isolation its secret society had devolved into a tribalistic hellscape; a real-life Lord of the Flies, rife with depravity and deception. Seven generations later, the island’s diabolical past still looms over its 48 residents; descendants of the original mutineers, marooned like modern castaways. Only a rusty cargo ship connects Pitcairn with the rest of the world, just four times a year. In 2018, Brandon Presser rode the freighter to live among its present-day families; two clans bound by circumstance and secrets. While on the island, he pieced together Pitcairn’s full story: an operatic saga that holds all who have visited in its mortal clutch—even the author. Told through vivid historical and personal narrative, The Far Land goes beyond the infamous Mutiny on the Bounty, offering an unprecedented glimpse at life on the fringes of civilization, and how, perhaps, it’s not so different from our own.
