This beautiful Gaudiya Vaishnava classic, Sri Gauranga-Lilamrta, is an extremelyrare manuscript. The work is a result ofthe combined efforts of Srila VisvanathaChakravarti Thakura and his disciple, SrilKrishna Dasa. Srila Chakravartipada had composed the first eleven verses in Sanskrit, known as Sriman-Mahaprabhor-Ashta-Kaliya-Lila-Smarana-Mangala-Stotram, which are the seed verses or sütras that describe the eternal eightfold daily pastimes of the fair-complexioned Lord. His disciple, Sri Krishna Dasa, composed Bengali verses that expound on these elevenverses to give a fuller, more detailed picture of the Lord's daily schedule. This translation, by Dasaratha-Suta Dasa (ACBSP) brings this rare classic to the English audience in all its beauty-allowing us to follow a day in the life of the Golden Avatara.

This unique work was composed in 1731 A.D. by Sri Nayanananda Thakur. The word preyo is used in the Bhakti-rasamrita-sindhu as a synonym for sakhya (fraternity). Nayanananda Thakura was a resident of Mangala-dihi village, and hailed from the disciplic branch of the famous Sri Parni Gopal, who was the direct disciple of Lord Nityananda's personal associate known as SriSundarananda Gopal. Sundarananda is celebrated as the incarnation of Sudama, one of the principal cowherd boys, who are eternal associates of Lord Balarama. These dear boyfriends incarnate on earth in order to sport with Balarama when He descends as Lord Nityananda during the performance of Gauranga-lila. This is described in the Sri Chaitanya- Charitamrita, Adi-lila, 11.13-48. The author's composition naturally follows in the footsteps of Sudama. Therefore we find the ecstatic descriptions of a day in the life of the cowherd boys of Vraja.

The first draft of The Hare Krishna Explosion was written in July 1969 just after Srila Prabhupada’s first visit to New Vrindavan. At that time Hayagriva realized that the details of the beginnings of the Krishna Consciousness Movement had best be recorded when the events were still fresh. Working from notebooks, diaries and memories he compiled the first edition in a month. Then the manuscript remained packed away until Srila Prabhupada left the mortal world in 1977.

Deep in lost history, did high civilizations and advanced knowledge thrive? The ancient Vedic literatures of India describe a worldwide civilization that flourished at a time when modern historians insist that humans like us existed simply as hunter-gatherers. This Vedic civilization, centered in India, employed technologies based on a scientific understanding of the physical elements and forces we know today, as well as more subtle conscious elements. Devamrita Swami, who has spent a lifetime in his own search for Vedic India, takes us on a journey of intellectual discovery through the history of the remarkable Vedic civilization and its knowledge, locked in the ancient literatures of India. His wit and wisdom combine to make our search for Vedic India not only illuminating but entertaining. He tells us not only the truths of Vedic India, but how they are again coming to be. Searching for Vedic India thus takes us not only into the past, but into the future.

Widely read, The Bhagavad Gita is a classic of world spirituality while The essential companion to The Bhagavad Gita, The Uddhava Gita has remained overlooked. This new accessible and only English translation in print of The Uddhava Gita offers a previously unexplored path to understanding Hinduism and Krishna’s wisdom. Written centuries apart, the ideas of the two dialogues are similar although their approach and contexts differ. The Bhagavad Gita is filled with the urgency of battle while The Uddhava Gita takes place on the eve of Krishna’s departure from the world. The Uddhava Gita offers the reader philosophy, sublime poetry, practical guidance, and, ultimately, hope for a more complete consciousness in which the life of the body better reflects the life of the spirit.
