A lost bunny teams up with a rascally, streetwise puppy to find her way home in this adorable friendship story set in New York City. Laura Rodriguez's pet bunny, Evie, is kind of a star: She's the mascot of the Rodriguez family's corner bodega in Harlem. Local residents stop by the small store every day just to see Evie. And even though people tend to make Evie nervous, Evie knows she's safe as long as Laura is around. But when Laura and her family go out of town for a few days, Evie suddenly finds herself in unfamiliar surroundings. Laura couldn't have meant to leave Evie with the snooty Mrs. Vanderwaal, could she? Frightened, Evie makes a run for it, determined to find her way back to the bodega - even though she has no idea where she is. All she knows is that she's in a vast green park in the center of New York City. That's when Evie meets the streetwise Bart, a stray Shiba Inu pup who is perfectly fine being on his own. He doesn't need an owner, thank you very much. Together, this unlikely duo embarks on a journey to cross Central Park, encountering countless tourists, dastardly dog catchers, and other animals. It's a long way, but if they can set aside their differences and work together, then maybe - just maybe - they can find their way home.

This book collectively presents an array of topics from my life experiences as a girl growing up in the Midwest to becoming a mature older woman in the age of social media. As both illustrator and writer I enjoy presenting an image with a brief story or verse. Many years ago my parents asked me to design a Christmas card. This is where it all started. Hand-made Christmas cards expanded into other modern American holidays, such as Halloween. Halloween is a favorite of mine as it offers up so much eerily fun for the old and young alike. This is why this collection consists of youthful poems reminiscing of childhood experiences in family and holiday themes as well as poems catering to adults about desire, love, loss and other mature themes. Some poems were written prior to an illustration accompanying them while other illustrations were drawn first with a poem following. Some poems have no illustration at all for example, the poem, “The Hot Bartender” was inspired by viewing an iconic tv show and begs you to imagine what he looks like as I purposely did not include an illustration. This collection includes a passion that embodies a sense of style and fashion in the clothes design some characters wear. “Dressed in the finest silk, velvet and plaid, she’s a sight of breathtaking beauty and style”, is described in the poem, “Celtic Lass in Irish Couture”. Each one of us embodies our own sense of style. Reflections of style, life experiences and how I perceive the world around me can be found in this book. May this collection find you reminiscing about delightful memories and take you to a place of calm reflection.

Lisa Diodetto's mother may be ready for her to get married but Lisa isn't. At her sister's wedding she ducks when the bridal bouquet comes floating her way, and the only "eligible bachelor" in Lisa's life is her beloved gay cousin, Dodie. Ditching her life as an underpaid, oversexed publishing drone in Manhattan, Lisa takes a lucrative spot at a more conservative company, and begins writing--on company time--a novel that pokes fun at corporate life. Enter Lisa's main character: her new boss, Eben Strauss. A man of manners and caution, Strauss manages to bring out the best bad girl in Lisa. And before they know it, two very different people from two very different worlds are doing the one thing you should never do at the office: falling in love. In her funny, familiar, heartbreaking new novel, the award-winning author of Blue Italian weaves a tale of family, work, sex, and love--and of all the things we try to leave behind but never really can. . . .
