Organized Naga military activity originally flourished under state patronage. During the latter half of the sixteenth century and the early part of the seventeenth century, a number of bands of fighting ascetics formed into akharas with sectarian names and identities. The Dasnami Sannyasis constitute perhaps the most powerful monastic order which has played an important part in the history of India. The cult of the naked Nagas has a long history. The present volume aims to explore new findings which are available in various archives and repositories in order to fill up the lacuna in Jadunath Sarkar’s work on the subject as elaborated in the present introduction. Please note: Taylor & Francis does not sell or distribute the Hardback in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Writer has given solution to it, in Chapter 13. The appendix gives “essence of Bhagawat Geeta”. Observing those principles, we can create a better and peaceful society. All religions respect non-violence, truth, peace, cleanliness, etc which are divine acquisitions, and they deride over-indulgence in sex, anger, arrogance, greed, ego, and laziness as qualities of demonic person. If all people meditate together, this will be emphasized and help to develop understanding and peace on the planet. Children are also to be brought up inculcating these laudable thoughts.

Sri Narasimha Swamiji was a lively, energetic and studious child brought up in a deeply religious and generous atmosphere. Later, he became a leading lawyer, politician and a person of social eminence. A tragedy in the family acted as a turning point, as he left the warmth and security of his home. His quest lasted for more than eleven years until he went to Shirdi to obtain a ‘darshan’ of Sai Baba’s samadhi. It was that historic day, 29th August 1936, which changed the course of his life. Sai Baba took possession of Narasimha Swamiji. He became an evangelist and spread the message of Sai Baba all over the country. As long as Sai Baba’s name is there in this universe, Narasimha Swamiji will be remembered, with reverence and faith.
