Big cats are not easily domesticated and should never be part of circus life. We should respect them in their natural environment. Let us take a look at some big cats: Firstis the lions who can be found in South Sahara in South Africa. It is one of the four big cats that can roar but it cannot purr. The male rarely hunts but provides protection for his family called a Pride. The females do the hunting. Lions are the most social of all the big cats. They can weigh up to 155 pounds and feed on medium to small prey they usually hunt alone at night and are also great tree climbers and leopards are loners. Then the Jaguar who is also one of the big cats that can roar. It is also one of the biggest cats found in America. They are found in the southwest US and Mexico along with Central America and can weigh up to 200 pounds. They were the third largest cat and like to swim. They hunt by stalking and ambushing. The Snow Leopard is found in Central and South Asia, it is a big cat but cannot roar. It is a great jumper and weighs between 60 and 120 pounds. It has a stocky body, thick fur, and small ears. The cheetah is next and is found in Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. The cheetahs do not roar but they're the fastest animals on land. They have a very slender build and a flexible spine that allows them to run so fast they weigh between 80 and 90 pounds. Let's not forget the clouded leopard which is also a big cat that cannot roar and it's really a bridge between the big and the small cats it is actually medium in size and weighs between 30 and 60 pounds. It's found in the Indonesian islands.
