MARINA ALEXANDER IS BACK IN HER THIRD ADVENTURE OF INTERNATIONAL INTRIGUE, ANCIENT SECRETS, AND HIGH-STAKES ADVENTURE! NEPAL, 2000 years ago: A honey hunting tribe collects its seasonal bounty, leaving an offering in a sacred cave. PARIS, 1889: The Jewish-Russian author of a controversial book about Jesus is threatened into silence by a trio of Buddhist monks. CINCINNATI, OHIO, PRESENT DAY: A man possessing data from an entomological field study is attacked and nearly killed. MIDWESTERN UNITED STATES: Three strange truck accidents in three different states spill hazardous materials all over the ground…and the only explanation is a strange bacteria from a glacier melt originating in Siberia. Marina Alexander—small plane pilot, search and rescuer, and professor of ancient writings—has tried to put her familial connection to a dangerous eco-terrorist group behind her. So when insect expert Eli Sanchez discovers a unique honeybee packaged with ancient Sanskrit writings and asks Marina for her help, she jumps at the opportunity. It’s not long before Marina and Eli realize someone is willing to kill to keep the origins of a humble honeybee secret… And at the same time, it becomes horrifyingly clear that the eco-terrorists led by Marina’s father will do anything to draw attention to their cause. In order to stop them, Marina has no choice but to team up with her father’s group—something she swore she would never do. And when the truth begins to come out, the answer is the last thing she ever expected… From the ancient honey hunting traditions of Nepal to glitzy, gritty Belle-Epoque Paris, the inner workings of the Vatican, and the dry, rugged mountains of India, SANSKRIT CIPHER takes readers on a wild ride as Marina and her friends work against the clock to protect one of the greatest secrets of all time—a secret that, if exposed, would rattle the world to its core.

UNLOCK THE MEANING OF EASTERN MAGICK In scope and clarity, there is no book that can compare to The Eastern Mysteries. This reissue of David Allen Hulse's landmark work is the one book all students of the occult must own. It catalogs and distills, in hundreds of tables of secret symbolism, the true import of each ancient Eastern magickal tradition. Each chapter is a key that unlocks the meaning behind one of the magickal languages. Through painstaking research and analysis, Hulse has accomplished an unprecedented feat -- that of reconstructing the basic underlying systems that form the vast legacy of mystery traditions. The real genius of this accomplishment is that it is presented in a way that is immediately understandable and usable. Although the book deals with many foreign scripts, ancient tongues, and lost symbols, it is designed for the beginning student. Included is a wealth of cross references, excellent introductory material and overviews, an extensive annotated bibliography, and -- new to this edition -- a complete index.

This is a path-breaking work as significant as the decipherment of Egyptian hieroglyphs by Champollion. For nearly130 years, the Indus script has remained a challenging enigma to scholars of languages, writing systems and civilization studies. The script was invented and used over an extensive area of what is called the Indus or Sindhu-Sarasvati civilization. Over 2000 or 80% of archaeological sites are found on the Sarasvati River basin, a river adored in a very old human document called the Rigveda and which dried up due to tectonic and resulting river migration causes. In 1822, history was made when Egyptian hieroglyphs were deciphered by Jean-Francois Champollion from parts of the Rosetta Stone. Champollion showed that the Egyptian writing system, c.3000 BCE was a combination of phonetic and ideographic glyphs. The Rosetta Stone is dated196 BCE and had a decree in three versions: one in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, one in the Egyptian demotic script, and one in ancient Greek. Since alphabets of ancient Greek were known, Champollion used the trilingual inscription to validate his historic decipherment. Indus Script Cipher makes history recording hundreds of hieroglyphs of India. Absence of a Rosetta Stone which has been the principal impediment in validating any decryption of Indus script cipher is thus overcome. Further validation comes from evidences of the historical periods in India from c. 600 BCE showing continued use of Indus script hieroglyphs which evolved from c. 3300 BCE. This book details a decipherment.of the Indus script using the same rebus method used by Champollion to read ancient phonetic hieroglyphs of Indiat. By demonstrating an Indian linguistic area of cultural and language contacts and history of language changes, this is a landmark contribution to civilization studies of the world and will promote efforts to rewrite the ancient socio-cultural and economic history of a billion people in India and neighboring regions.

Evaline Stoker and Mina Holmes never meant to get into the family business. But when you're the sister of Bram and the niece of Sherlock, vampire hunting and mystery solving are in your blood, so to speak. After the Affair of the Clockwork Scarab, Evaline Stoker and Mina Holmes are eager to help Princess Alix with a new case. Seventeen-year-old Willa Aston is obsessed with spiritual mediums, convinced she is speaking with her mother from beyond the grave. What seems like a case of spiritualist fraud quickly devolves into something far more menacing: someone is trying to make Willa appear lunatic using an innocent-looking spiritglass to control her. The list of clues piles up: an unexpected murder, a gang of pickpockets, and the return of vampires to London. But are these events connected? As Uncle Sherlock would say, there are no coincidences. It will take all of Mina's wit and Evaline's muscle to keep London's sinister underground at bay... “This book has it all…the vivid setting and the finely drawn, compelling heroines make this a fine choice for readers who like their stories with steampunk spice and smart, strong women.” –School Library Journal “The mishmash of popular tropes (steampunk! Vampires! Sherlock Holmes!) will bring readers in, but it’s the friendship between the two girls that will keep them.” –Kirkus Reviews “The author’s writing exudes energy, romance, and humor, and she gives her heroines strong, vibrant personalities as they puzzle out the expansive mystery unfolding before them.” –Publishers Weekly “If Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Sherlock Holmes ever met, this book would be the result. If you loved ‘Nancy Drew’ or ‘The Hardy Boys’ as a kid, you’re going to love this sci-fi/fantasy mystery series.” —SLJ Teen
