This study has developed a dune morphology classification for the shorezone of Lake Michigan, and other Michigan Great Lakes. The scheme is based on dune form, relative relief, orientation, arrangement and the relationship of the dune form to the underlying formation. Dune assemblages were identified and mapped according to this classification in seven priority and dune areas along Lake Michigan--Summary.
