Excerpt from Examination and Certification of Teachers If you desire certification privileges in Idaho by indorsement, read carefully the certification pamphlet, and if you are able to meet its requirements, send for the formal blank. Since vacancies are rarely reported to this office, direct correspondence with the County and City Superintendents will result in much better information as to vacancies, summer terms of rural schools, salaries and other particulars. For information concerning summer normals address the Lewiston Normal School (Lewiston, Idaho), the Albion Normal School (Albion, Idaho), the University of Idaho (Moscow, Idaho), the Idaho Technical Institute (Pocatello, Idaho), or the State Board of Education. Salaries in the rural schools of the State range from fifty dollars to ninety-five dollars per month; in the grades from sixty dollars to one hundred dollars per month; principals' salaries range from nine hundred dollars to twenty-five hundred dollars per annum; city or town superintendents receive salaries ranging from twelve hundred dollars to four thousand dollars per year. Copies of the School Law may be procured from the Secretary of State, Boise, for thirty-five cents each; copies of the State Constitution for twenty-five cents; copies of the Course of Study and Manual of Methods from the Department of Education for twenty-five cents (silver).
