She started as an English teacher, moved into administration, and served as president of a private junior college in Jackson, Mississippi, for twenty years, a position from which she retired in 1995. It was in Jackson that she found her true calling, teaching the Word of God in a local church, Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Soon after becoming a member, she began to teach Sunday School, first to older women and currently to younger women, during a span of over thirty years. Throughout the years she has taught men and women of all ages in other Bible studies, particularly studies concerning end times.
