This book is one of considerable variety, dealing mainly with prayer, worship, and song to a minor degree. "Prayer," the author states, " . . . is the fourth dimension of human existence, a dimension of mystery--a spiritual dimension, for God is Spirit, and God dwells in us as Spirit. This dimension becomes especially manifest in silent prayer . . ." Prayer is part of the pilgrimage of life. Small wonder, through many years the book has grown to some 145 prayers covering a vast variety of subjects, some most serious, dealing with fundamental, human struggles and fundamental questions; some are even humorous--sport, the Kentucky Derby, God's humor in creation. Pastoral prayers touch on the worship service and its danger of becoming stereotyped. So he even ventures in giving fifteen new benedictions, which he says is not intended to be a wimpy prayer of dismissal to go home now to have a nap, but an authoritative culmination of the worship service, sending people out into the world as laborers. The lyrics deal with the essential elements of life: praise to the Almighty (Psalm 146), love, faith, hope, God's goodness, and ends with a song to America. Prayer, the author says, is the universal language of all religions, and he anticipates that people of diverse religious persuasions will find in the book guidance in trying situations, comfort, joy, and inspiration.

Kisses in the Wind begins with attorney Neil Myers recuperating at home from his latest psychiatric relapse. At the time, Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are involved in an intense struggle to be the Democratic Party presidential nominee. A decision about seating Michigan delegates angers Hillary's female supporters. Neil takes this to mean there will be severe female retaliation, which casts him into another mental relapse. Neil believes that men's relevance in the world is slipping. He was once a criminal attorney who switched to representing men in lopsided divorce and child custody cases. When one of his disgruntled clients killed his children's mothers and wounded the female judge in the courtroom, Neil blames her unreasonable ruling in the case as the cause of the shootings. That incident sent Neil for psychiatric treatment and he has never been the same. In his present state of mind, he finds that his fears are being realized. Women have rebelled and are now in total control of the U.S. and most of the world.

My name is Alexander Madigan. I inherited a mansion thats so old it might have been built before the thirteen colonies existed. I live all alone so I talk to myself and the twelve suits of armor standing in the mansions upstairs great hallway. In fact I had just said goodnight to them when right in front of me, so close it touched my toes, popped a thirteenth one. I swallowed down fear before I talked to it. –Im not really seeing you, am I? Youre nothing, only a case of loneliness tremors, or something akin to that. So do me a favor, just go away and right now.” Of course it didnt. It stayed and began changing colors, slowly at first, until it became a dark violet that radiated heat. Its helmet visor moved upward and two fiery eyes did things to my mind while staring through my skull and out its back end. A knife edge voice electrified the mansions air and raked my spine. –At last we meet face to face.” That was the beginning of my adventure that took me from modern day Earth and sent me through a dimension door to a medieval Earth.
