The clitoris was absent in anatomy books, in paintings and sculptures, absent in spirit and even body; it has long been the organ of erased pleasure. We assume that this oversight has been repaired in our times: today, the clitoris is not forgotten but honoured. Conferences, books, manifestos, works of art are all devoted to it. The autonomy of clitoral jouissance is recognized. The boundaries of feminism have also moved: queer, intersex and trans approaches claim that the clitoris is perhaps no longer the exclusive preserve of the woman. And yet, there remains a wounded space. Because genital mutilation is still common practice. Because millions of women are still denied pleasure. The clitoris continues to mark the enigmatic space of the feminine. Constrained by the extreme difficulty and the extreme urgency of returning to this scorched earth, it is time to give voice to an organ of pleasure which has still not become an organ of thought.

❤ They have a history -- can it be rewritten?❤ Prince Karl longs to once more be plain Karl Wethers, Wyoming rancher. Instead, his sense of responsibility, nurtured as a cowboy and honed in the U.S. Army, won’t let him turn his back on King Jozef of Bariavak. But he has a plan. If he can pull it off. Then international media consultant Harmon Reed re-enters his life. The Army brat who liked to juggle lit sticks of dynamite is now a woman who could explode that dynamite in his face. He’s fully occupied with trying to keep her from knowing anything about the complications of his royal life, because he will never trust her again, despite the pull of a love long gone. For Harmon, what started as a youthful summer fling ignited into a love that shook her to her core. Equally smitten, Karl saw something beyond her beauty and rebellious streak. Then Harmon broke it off – and broke Karl’s heart. They went their separate ways, but no matter how far apart they traveled, the embers of first love remained. And the slim hope of a second chance floated in the periphery. Oh, yes, these two have a history. A history neither has forgotten … but can they forgive? Young Walker Judson has a grand secret. He sees light emanating from and surrounding other folks. Soul shadows, the boy terms them. Years later, as director of The Living Light Healing Center, he meets the hunchback, Lauren Finch, and straightens her spine. She's seduced by his charisma, becomes his devout assistant, and ultimately transforms into a powerful healer in her own right. When all goes awry, even as Lauren's faith is challenged, even as others abandon Walker, she remains steadfast. But how far is she willing to go to prove her devotion, and what will it take for her to peel off the blinders and trust her own strengths? And so, is Walker Judson truly a healer-gone-bad or a saintly soul whose paranormal talents are misunderstood? Ultimately, you, the reader must decide. Today's news is rife with stories of physical and emotional abuse on the part of Catholic priests, Buddhist monks, as well as school teachers and sports coaches. Furthermore, cults such as the People's Temple, at the behest of their leader, Jim Jones, require followers to commit mass suicide. On another vein, politicians, athletes, and entertainers, Bill Clinton, Anthony Weiner, Tiger Woods, and Michael Jackson--to name a few--violate the trust of family and supporters, destroying lives in the process. So why are tales of manipulation and abuse so rampant among the powerful? Then again, why are followers so easily swayed that they cast aside common sense and discernment? The Worship of Walker Judson, an award winning novel, explores the misuse of power and the ease with which seekers relinquish it. Psychic phenomena, cultism, mystics and madmen, the retelling of the Christ story in the context of the persecuted healer, along with the role of personal choice versus karmic destiny are also examined in this novel.

This book analyses anthropological debates on “relationism” (referring to methodological and theoretical issues) and sets out to reconsider these discussions with regards to the notion of “substance” (generally associated with the body). Reflecting on the philosophical origins and implications of these two concepts, the author aims to bring them to the heart of contemporary anthropological discourse and addresses the erasure (or blurring) of “substance” in favour of “relation.” The argument put forward is that the conceptual pairing of “substance-relation” should be substituted for the “nature-culture” dualism that has been dominant in structural anthropology. The chapters engage with the work of scholars such as Philippe Descola, Eduardo Viveiros de Castro and Wang Mingming as part of a decentring and questioning of the tradition in which anthropology is rooted. The book also considers the role that the anthropology of China plays in the re-evaluation of the relationship between relation and substance. The concept of “submutance” is introduced with Chinese ethnographic material to explore the possibility of moving beyond the relation-substance dualism of Western heritage. This is valuable reading for scholars interested in the theory and history of anthropology.
