This is the next step in advancing the vision of ¿Extending the Legacy Plan.¿ The purpose of this plan is to transform the federal precincts surrounding the National Mall into vibrant destinations and to improve the physical and visual connections between the city, the National Mall, and the waterfront. The ¿Framework Plan¿ promotes livability and sustainability while creating destinations to support memorials, museums, and federal offices for our future generations. The plan identifies immediate and long-term opportunities to coordinate land use, urban design, public space, and transportation improvements, and lays out an action agenda for the detailed planning work that will be necessary to fully realize the plan¿s overall vision.
