“This is the sort of theological resource upon which The Da Vinci Code and books like it are based. This book says things are hidden and meant to be found.” —Joseph McVeigh, translator After nearly three hundred years, one of the most important alchemical and magical texts of all time has finally been translated into English! In Goethe’s immortal play, Faust, the brooding hero reflects upon the vainness of earthly knowledge and education. He opens a book of magic and is transfixed by an illustration of the magical universe. He resolves there and then to become a magician. The book that fired Goethe’s imagination for that dramatic scene was a real book—the book of forbidden knowledge that evoked every mystical cliché, Opus Mago-Cabbalisticum et Theosophicum. This first ever English edition of Opus Mago-Cabbalisticum et Theosophicum will appeal to anyone interested in the history or practical aspects of alchemy, astrology, magick, Rosicrucianism, esoteric Freemasonry, and the Golden Dawn. A perfect addition to any library of classic esoteric literature, this edition reproduces famous illustrations.

Blocki Flute Method Book 3 is an advanced method book designed to thoroughly prepare students for studying advanced literature. This fun and challenging book helps students master the extreme octaves in a systematic method. 1) By the end of the book, students will be able to play all major, natural and harmonic minor two octave scales and arpeggios in less than 8 minutes. 2) Each unit is packed with rhythmic exercises systematically presented to enable students to master new concepts. The 2nd ed. includes systematically learning advanced rhythms and includes quarter note triplets. Though this book contains several etudes in each unit, it serves as a bridge to using the standard etude books and solos. 3) Each unit contains an abundance of duets. Many of these duets are based on the original flute parts from famous orchestral scores including: Capriccio Espagnol's Fandango Asturaino, , Wm Tell Overture, Carmen's The Mountain Garden and Habenera, Pictures at an Exhibition: The Great Gate at Kiev, Brandenburg Concerto no. 4, and Sousa's Stars and Stripes. Other duets include the Mozart Flute Sonata no. 5, pieces from Kabalevsky's opus 24, Boccherini Minuet, La Gioconda, and the March from the Nutcracker. 4) An abundance of tone and technique practice throughout all octaves of the flute. This book is appropriate for advanced junior high and high school students and as a remedial book for college students. It also provides excellent and challenging sight-reading material for the advanced college flutist. Students will learn standard literature such as Stars and Stripes, The William Tell Overture, and etudes written in duet form.

Augustan love elegy represents one of the most important and most distinctive Roman contributions to European and world literature. This volume presents the first detailed commentary in any language on Ovid's Amores Book 3, the last collection of love poems composed in the Augustan age. Aimed at both students and scholars, the commentary has been written to be as accessible to as many readers as possible, with all quotations from ancient Greek and modern languages being translated. It includes an Introduction for the general reader which pays particular attention not only to the book's poetic design and the distinctive features of Ovid's style, but the relationship of the whole three-book collection to earlier love elegy and its handling of political and social questions. It offers an edition of the text of Book 3 based on printed editions together with a translation designed to clarify the surface meaning of the Latin. P. J. Davis's commentary focuses on topics including Ovid's engagement with the works of earlier poets, his use of rhetoric and wit, his employment of verbal and metrical patterns, textual difficulties, and, of course, the elucidation of linguistic problems. Amores Book 3 takes love elegy in new directions giving us, for example, a dream-vision poem, a dutiful husband's account of a religious pilgrimage, and the speech of a pickup artist trying to seduce a girl at the races. Perhaps its most striking feature is its shift away from obsession with a single mistress to reflection on the poet's place in the tradition of Latin love poetry, with poems explicitly devoted to issues raised by Catullus, Tibullus, and Propertius.

The Magnum Opus is inspired by the multi-award-winning short film, The Maker. Watch it here: http://bit.ly/WatchTheMaker Synopsis: In a time and world long ago forgotten, there existed an enchanted workshop. Within its walls, a magical creature called a 'Maker' busily created the next of his kin. Upon completion, the creator was whisked away to join the rest of the Maker community. Meanwhile, their progeny was left alone to create the next Maker in a never-ending cycle of creation. That was, until the day an offbeat Maker named Ario was unable to complete 'The Making' and broke their sacred chain of existence. Wracked with guilt, Ario embarked on a quest to right his wrong, but what he discovered was far more monstrous and miraculous than anyone ever imagined.
