"The Gospel of John and the Religious Quest argues that at its origin the Fourth Gospel was part of a dialogue with various religious traditions, and that to this day it is being used in active dialogue with those who live in traditions other than the Christian. In the first part of the book, Johannes Nissen analyzes a number of texts selected both for their central importance to John's theology and for their special relevance in today's religious quests and encounters. These texts focus on John's images of Life--water, bread, light, way, and tree--but also treat concepts that are crucial to the Fourth Gospel--Word, Truth, and Love. In the second part, Nissen focuses on significant issues for current readers of the Gospel: the relation between incarnation and inculturation; models for dialogue with other religions; images of Christ; truth and love as criteria for dialogue; and the experience of faith in the light of the Fourth Gospel. The Birth of New Babes Study Guide Im Saved, Now What? The year of 2012 the month of April, After two years of teaching Bible class, God gave me an assignment to write this book. He spoke to me in a vision, saying, I have gifted you with the ability to talk to people and explain my Word with clarity. This book should be written as a study guide. The primary purpose is to answer questions that most new babes have, but the spirit of pride and fear is keeping from asking. I pray that through this book, the question of whats next? has been answered and that youve received your own revelation of who God is, his plan and purpose for your life. Thank you for your love and support. Love, Your sister in Christ Minister Andrea Michelle Riley Study to shew thyself approved to God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (1 Timothy 2:16)

In a world of technological revelations and human genius, organized religions continue to hold on to the element of faith. There are many religious questions that are satisfactorily answered in science, yet conveniently ignored by the faithful. Amidst the numerous scientific breakthroughs of the 21st Century, some still see science as the opposite of religion, even when the evidence is convincing that the two are complementary. Evolution of Darkness invites its readers to step out of the box to consider a few ideas on the dogmas that dominate religious thoughts and influences. On Christmas Eve 2012, I was invited to a candle lighting ceremony when it struck me that the Darkness we were driving out sat at the center of the flames we were holding in our hands. In other words, the Darkness in the center of the candle was responsible for the flame that provided the light in the room. This discovery enhanced my perception that the Darkness we see is the color of the energy that permeates the cosmos. Evolution of Darkness contends that this energy is intelligent and is the only authority capable of creating and sustaining this universe we live in. Every aspect of life, whether animate or inanimate, represents an expression of the Evolution of Darkness. The only legitimate expression of the God of creation is Darkness/Energy. Everything from electromagnetism to righteousness and faith are attributes of Dark Energy. From a realistic perspective, the Creator of this violent system is not a morally good God, but a God who has created a system that satisfies His needs. Everything we see around us is necessary and creates the perfect balance for the constant operation of the universe.

John's gospel is unique. What makes it unique is the author, John, and the perspective he brings to the person and character of Jesus. John was Jesus's closest friend. You might say his best friend! Peter, James, and John were part of an inner circle that Jesus included exclusively. Only these three were allowed into the room when Jesus raised the synagogue official's daughter from the dead. Only these three were invited onto the mountain to witness his transfiguration experience. It was John that leaned on Jesus's breast at the Last Supper and was told who the betrayer was. And in Jesus's moment of deepest distress in the garden before his death, only these three were invited deep into the garden to pray with Jesus. But more than all that, John was the first disciple to be chosen and the only one at the very end. Only John was at the foot of the cross comforting Jesus's mother while the rest hid in fear. And it was because of John's unique relationship with Jesus that Jesus committed the care of his mother to him. John writes long after the other gospel letters had been distributed among the churches. John describes seven miracles, five unique to his gospel. John includes seven "I am" statements and is the only writer that uses the phrase "Truly, truly..." to underscore the extreme importance of these statements. John writes not as a follower, and not just as an eyewitness but as Jesus's best friend. And John writes for one single, specific purpose: "That you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name" (John 20:31). To miss this is to miss the very reason for your existence on this planet!

A self-described hillbilly from western Oklahoma, Lance Compton is one of God's unlikely servants whose life illustrates that Jesus Christ did not cease to transform the wayward into His ambassadors on the Damascus Road. After a devastating diagnosis with cancer in the seventh grade, Lance was miraculously and spontaneously healed by God's gracious hand. This event gave him an unquenchable desire for a deeper knowledge and fuller understanding of his Creator, and he immediately embarked upon an unorthodox journey toward that end. Lance's peregrination of faith has brought him into fellowship and friendship with some of the country's most influential people, allowed him to see the halls of power, reserved a seat for him at the table of one of the world's largest Christian ministries, anointed him a zealous caretaker of society's discards, asked him to prevent a heinous murder, shown him the extent to which God's grace abounds, bestowed upon him the grandest of purposes, and led him to the greatest treasure of all-intimate knowledge of the Truth. You will want to walk alongside Lance as he recounts his journey upon the narrow way and learns from station to station how secure is that foundation upon which the structure of a full life stands, how careful is the Potter whose hands labor diligently to bring forth perfection, how priceless is the mosaic that reflects the light of its Maker, and how beautiful are the feet that abide in the dust for good news' sake. Come and see.

Throughout the Gospel of John Jesus poses a series of questions: "What are you looking for?" "Do you want to be healed?" "Why do I speak to you at all?" as well as the most poignant, addressed to Peter, "Do you love me?" Michael Crosby's reflections on these questions take us into the heart of John's gospel. He highlights an important theme: the tension between a model of the church that gives emphasis to the Petrine principle of apostolic authority and a model of the church -- characterized by the Beloved Disciple -- that gives greater emphasis to loving service and discipleship. As Crosby shows, it is in balancing the roles of both Peter and the Beloved Disciple that the church best reflects the spirit of Christ.
