Iniquity can be thousand whereas religion cannot be. Iniquity is disease, religion is health. Therefore, religion can be only one. And on the day when only religion will be eternal on mankind, on that day we will be free from the misunderstandings being created in the name of religion. Now this modern man, in this twenty first century needs a new policy on new grounds. This new policy is based on knowledge, not on fear. This new policy will stand on the point that today's man should understand that being moral is joyful and healthy for him. It is in his personal interest to be ethical. It is not for fear of any future. It is not for the sake of any heaven after death in fact it is the taste of being moral today on this earth and the one who is immoral is cutting his own feet with his hands. It is not like that the one who is immoral will go to hell in future, but in fact is creating hell for himself today. When a man is in complete anger, the amount of poison that spreads in his blood is hundred times enough to kill a man. We have to make this a part of our knowledge. Now the morality of the future will be part of our knowledge. We have to make love and awareness a part of our knowledge too. Without destination, if there is a way, it will be meaningless and inconsistent. Because the path which does not lead to any destination is very difficult to be named. One day the path has to accept its destination as well. And remember nothing can be achieved without any aim.

Have you ever thought about the meaning of life and the role of religion? Professor Worrell presents his agnostic journey as a cultural Christian to answer both aspects of this important question beginning with his early college days. This autobiographical account from faith to doubt includes personal, academic, philosophical, administrative, and anecdotal experiences throughout his career as a social scientist over the years. Executives will be interested in the inclusion by the author of an early program initiated by an AT&T executive and directed by the University of Pennsylvania faculty and their selected prominent guests who emphasize the importance of the literary arts as a factor to enhance decision making for top managers. Moreover, all readers may see avenues to broaden their own perspectives or to pursue other genres. Mr. Worrell’s memoir uniquely introduces the reader to a dialogue with his friend Paul R. (Bob) Indrome in an attempt to provide some humor throughout the presentation of his journey. This odyessey can be read in one sitting, or in days and weeks, depending upon reflection? It is only the author’s reflection of his journey. What questions do you ponder from time to time throughout your own journey of life?

The Critical Journey, at its core, is a description of the spiritual journey: our response to our faith in God with the resulting changes that follow. In this book, authors Janet O. Hagberg and Robert A. Guelich address the following issues: the struggle to find meaning and wholeness the crisis of values and identity at mid-life the quest for self-actualization the healing of early religious experiences questions about the spiritual journey Their goal is to help us understand where we are on our individual faith journeys and also appreciate where others are in theirs. The Critical Journey does not reveal exactly how or when we need to move along in our personal pilgrimages, nor does it offer formulas for spiritual growth. Rather, it describes six phases of the spiritual journey and illustrates how people act and think while in these stages. This is an excellent guide for those who are wrestling with their faith and wondering how others have resolved their "dark nights of the soul." Here is an answer for those who have wondered why everyone doesn't respond in the same manner to the message of the Gospel.

“River of Fire is Sister Helen’s story leading up to her acclaimed book Dead Man Walking—it is thought-provoking, informative, and inspiring. Read it and it will set your heart ablaze!”—Mark Shriver, author of Pilgrimage: My Search for the Real Pope Francis The nation’s foremost leader in efforts to abolish the death penalty shares the story of her growth as a spiritual leader, speaks out about the challenges of the Catholic Church, and shows that joy and religion are not mutually exclusive. Sister Helen Prejean’s work as an activist nun, campaigning to educate Americans about the inhumanity of the death penalty, is known to millions worldwide. Less widely known is the evolution of her spiritual journey from praying for God to solve the world’s problems to engaging full-tilt in working to transform societal injustices. Sister Helen grew up in a well-off Baton Rouge family that still employed black servants. She joined the Sisters of St. Joseph at the age of eighteen and was in her forties when she had an awakening that her life’s work was to immerse herself in the struggle of poor people forced to live on the margins of society. Sister Helen writes about the relationships with friends, fellow nuns, and mentors who have shaped her over the years. In this honest and fiercely open account, she writes about her close friendship with a priest, intent on marrying her, that challenged her vocation in the “new territory of the heart.” The final page of River of Fire ends with the opening page of Dead Man Walking, when she was first invited to correspond with a man on Louisiana’s death row. River of Fire is a book for anyone interested in journeys of faith and spirituality, doubt and belief, and “catching on fire” to purpose and passion. It is a book, written in accessible, luminous prose, about how to live a spiritual life that is wide awake to the sufferings and creative opportunities of our world. “Prejean chronicles the compelling, sometimes-difficult journey to the heart of her soul and faith with wit, honesty, and intelligence. A refreshingly intimate memoir of a life in faith.”—Kirkus Reviews
