Excerpt from Minutes of the Forty-Second Annual Session of the Wood River Baptist Sunday School Convention, Teachers' Institute, B Y. P. U. And Mothers' Union: Held With Corinthian Baptist Church Lovejoy, Illinois, July 5 to 10, 1910 Section 3. The Corresponding Secretary shall have charge of all books, papers, etc., property of the Convention, receive all communications addressed to the Convention, present them at its session; act as correspondent in communicating all information to individuals and religious bodies. Section 4. The Treasurer shall inform each school through delegates or by letter of its dues, arrears, etc., the amount of money necessary to raise for the carrying on of the work and urge prompt payment of the same. To receive all monies and keep a record of same. To pay out no money without an order drawn either by the President or Corresponding Secretary and signed by both, and make a full report at each annual meeting. Section 5. Delegates shall be present and respond to the roll call at each session and, when requested, to assist in opening and closing each session with singing and prayer. II. Each delegate may speak twice on the same subject. Liberty to speak more than twice may be granted by a vote of the Convention. III. Each delegate when rising to speak must courteously address the presiding officer; shall speak to the point, not antagonizing previous speakers. Speakers may be limited in their remarks as the convention may see proper. IV. No delegate shall leave the convention during its session without permission. Order shall be observed during public speech. A speaker shall be out of order who does not sit within the boundary prescribed by the chair. V. Failure to observe any of the foregoing rules shall be reproved by the convention as may seem proper. VI. Called to order by President of last year. Open with prayer. Appointment of committees on credentials and election of officers. Report of retiring officers. Invitation to visitors. Appointment of committees. Reading of letters.
