The veil has been lifted. Discover the Gospel truth about the most myth-understood woman of the New Testament. Was Mary Magdalene a prostitute? An adulteress? The wife of Jesus? An ancient goddess? Liz Curtis Higgs, best-selling author of Bad Girls of the Bible and Really Bad Girls of the Bible, combines heartfelt contemporary fiction with extensive biblical research to bring to life the real Mary Magdalene of the Bible. With her own eyes, she saw him. With her own ears, she heard him. With her own hands, she touched him. Unveiling Mary Magdalene opens with the fictional journey of Mary Margaret Delaney, a madwoman adrift in modern Chicago. Her moving story, closely paralleling the biblical account, is followed by a verse-by-verse study of the first-century Mary Magdalene and her life-changing encounters with the Christ. “Liz has done it again! What hope and promise this will bring.” —Kay Arthur “The unforgettable portrait of a courageous woman.” —Rebecca St. James

Marys Son is a fictional account of how Mary, the mother of our Savior, dealt with the challenges of his three-year ministry. She not only had to deal with the daily rejection of the people in the village of Nazareth but also the doubts of her children. Who is this young carpenter who left his mother in the olive grove to go off and find his cousin, John, who claims to be the forerunner of the Messiah? Mary is aware that he is Gods son, and that he is destined for something special. But what is Gods plan for him? What does she tell her close friends and neighbors who love and support her? How does she convince her children to continue to have faith when their brother is performing miracles and claiming to be the Messiah? And how does she, as a mother, deal with the religious leaders rejection of him and threats to kill him? Finally, how does she cope with his trial before the Sanhedrin and Pilate, along with his flogging and crucifixion? This book is a sequel to my first book, Joseph the Carpenter from Nazareth. Both books are my perception of what took place during Jesuss family life and his ministrys impact on his mother and siblings. Because this book is work of fiction, I have paraphrased most of the scripture used. I encourage my readers to read all four of the Gospels because I intentionally left out most of the scripture where Jesus is speaking only to his disciples.

In the vast majority of ghost stories, the reader's gateway into the tale is the point of view of the person being haunted. In Margaret Oliphant's unique take on the genre, however, we're granted both sides of the story. This tale of a mysteriously missing will is enlivened (so to speak) by the "voice" of the deceased woman of the title, Old Lady Mary.

THIS IS A LOVE STORY, the tale of a woman who dream of love and power and found more than she dreamed. It is a historical romance with mystical tones. In Magdala 17 A.D.: the young Jewish woman, Mary is entranced by a golden lover on a white horse -- the Roman Centurion Quintus Gallus. Sensuous, with powerful emotions, born with "second sight" (clairvoyance), she sees fragments of her future life. Seduced by Quintus, she is later captured by Arabs and escapes to Caesarea, only to be thrown into a life of prostitution. She becomes a courtesan in Caesarea, and for a time the mistress of Pontius Pilate. But her painful love for Quintus leads to hashish and finally insanity; she is "possessed" by a devil, a dark voice in her mind. Mad on the streets, and tormented by the "devil", she faces stoning, but is rescued by a strange Galilean who has marvelous powers of healing: Jesus of Nazareth. It is Jesus who reveals the real mysteries of Love to Mary and what teacher her to "walk the rainbow" to spiritual individuation. Pontius Pilate, the centurion Quintus Gallus, a disciple named Judas, the Devil himself, and the Nazarene prophet, Jesus are the alchemical agents that transform a prostitute into a saint --the legendary woman of the Bible who anointed the Master's feet and dried them with her hair. This is a novel of people, adventure and passion. It is written for every woman who "loved and lost," but did not understand the significance of what happened. This book is also a Jungian alchemical parable of transmutation and it has much meaning for those interested in mystical Christianity, yoga, holistic health, ESP, and mythology of the Joseph Campbellian variety. Mary is a Biblical hero, but she is also the eternally questing hero of the mythic round; and if Jesus is the Biblical Christ, He is also that Magus figure who leads men to a higher state of consciousness. This is the story of a woman of passion who achieved the gate of heaven. For every true lover ... and especially RK.
