A threat of total elimination hangs over the heads of all who inhabit the Celtique Isles, and only young Ashlynn, soon to be crowned High Queen of one of the most powerful nations among the Isles, can bring them together to overcome years of petty differences and stand united against the growing threat to their lands and their lives.Set in a land of magic and mystery, this is a tale of pride and devotion. Ashlynn has a deep love for her kingdom and her homelands, and risks her own life to try and spare her people the pain of war. She is a ruler unlike any other, one who has inherited the heavy burden of not only a crown but the duty of an Elemental, one who has the ability to shift their form into that of a dragon and have special kinship with others of her kind. When the High King of Caedia, a nation once a part of the Isles, decides to bring war to the Elementals, to try and rid the earth of them in his quest for ultimate power, Ashlynn must grow up in a hurry and learn to fight, as well as find the rest of her kindred who have been scattered across the globe for generations. Little does she know that the man she prepares to fight is only a pawn in a much bigger war, and that the real face of terror has been hiding in plain sight all along.

Uncommon Valor is a look into the formation and operation of an advanced Special Forces recon company during the Vietnam War. Code-named the Studies and Observations Group, SOG was the most covert U.S. military unit in its time and contained only volunteers from such elite units as the Army's Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and Air Force Air Commandos. SOG warriors operated in small teams, going behind enemy lines in Laos and Cambodia and along the Ho Chi Minh Trail, tasked with performing special reconnaissance, sabotaging North Vietnamese Army ammunition, attempting to rescue downed U.S. pilots, and other black ops missions. During that time, Forward Operating Base-2's (FOB-2's) recon company became the most highly decorated unit of the Vietnam War, with five of its men earning the Medal of Honor and eight earning the Distinguished Service Cross-America's second highest military award for valor. Purple Hearts were earned by SOG veterans at a pace unparalleled in American wars of the twentieth century, with casualties at times exceeding 100 percent. One, Bob Howard, was wounded on fourteen different occasions, received eight Purple Hearts, was written up after three different missions for the Medal of Honor, and emerged from Vietnam as the most highly decorated soldier since World War II's Audie Murphy.

Bestselling author Tanya Huff’s Confederation series of military science fiction returns with a novel where one woman’s discovery shakes the foundations of the intergalactic alliance itself... Gunnery Sergeant Torin Kerr has had enough of special treatment—and of gaping, skepticism, and whispers of Silsviss or Big Yellow as she passes. She’s glad to be back with her own Sh’quo Company, surrounded by familiar faces and enduring more razzing than awe. Of course, the company is going into battle again, facing death on all sides in a centuries-old war where every attempt at diplomacy fails, and she’s got a brand-new second lieutenant to train. Another glorious day in the Confederation Marine Corps. The battle goes disastrously wrong. And yet somehow Torin wakes up. The Others don’t take prisoners—or so the Confederation has always said. But the dark tunnels and mysterious mechanisms of the warren around her certainly seem like a prison. And there’s more going on than simple confinement. One after another, Torin’s most cherished beliefs are shaken to the core. She’s always been a survivor. But time is running out. If she has to question everything to escape, answers had better start coming fast...

On the run from a lecherous laird, a Scottish kitchen maid stumbles into the life of a dutiful warrior in this historical romance series debut. Since her adoption by peasants of the Ogilvie Clan, Roses has been marked as an outsider. Her fair hair and golden complexion set her apart, as does a mysterious tattoo she keeps hidden at all costs. So, when Laird Ogilvie corners her with an indecent proposal, Roses has no ties to stop her from fleeing. Outcast and alone, her escape across the Highlands is interrupted by Wilkie Mackenzie, the wild and handsome brother of nearby Clan Mackenzie’s leader. Wilkie is honor bound to marry into the family of a valuable ally. But when Roses sweeps him off his feet—literally—settling for an arranged match is no longer an option. Torn between duty and desire, Wilkie dedicates himself to Roses’s protection, but Laird Ogilvie knows her secret and will stop at nothing to steal Roses back. Now, these star-crossed lovers find themselves in a fight to defend both their hearts—and their lives. Praise for Highlander Claimed “Miller makes a stunning debut with the first in her Clan Mackenzie trilogy. It’s an action-packed romance full of fierce warriors, strong women, rebelling clans and secrets worth killing for. Her well-developed characters, accurate historical settings and dashing heroes will win over readers.” —RT Book Reviews
