Luca Missoni is an Italian photographer passionate of astronomy. The Moon has always been at the center of his artistic research. For more than twenty years he has been realizing a photographic project which explores the Moon focusing on the tension between reality and imagination. In his childhood he started to observe the Moon with a telescope, collecting maps and books. With the myth of the Moon increasing its charm since the Sixties, with its explorations, Missoni has been more and more involved up to pursue a project for a personal Atlas of the heavenly body. The book is structured in two main sections: a first part with an obsessive and rigorous representation of the Moon in all its phases; a second part with its interpretation in a continuous testing of colors and composition of different phases. The result is a personal trip around the Moon with a representation of the visible side of our satellite, in a continuous tension towards the shadowed and hidden part.

A celebration of the unmistakable Missoni style, whose innovative approach mixes bold color, pattern, and material with an extraordinary sense of balance and elegance. This is the first fully comprehensive book about Missoni, created with full access to the archives and with the support of the Missoni family. Lavishly designed, it features reproductions of Missoni patterns printed on special material and stitched into the binding between signatures along with other special features. This volume was conceived as a design object, in which images, texts, original fabrics, drawings, color palettes, and fashion patterns speak to one another. Missoni celebrates an elegance that has become an artistic expression as well as something of a cultural and fashion revolution since the early 1950s, when Rosita and Ottavio Missoni began their creative journey into fashion and art, with a talent for experimentation that never betrayed the spirit of their origins in the decades to come. Divided into thematic sections, each is introduced by an essay including quotes by the Missonis themselves, highlighting the artistic decisions that contributed to the success and recognizability of their fashion house. With previously unpublished material from both the family and the company archives, this volume is a look into the creative and artistic world of Missoni.

While Missoni clothes have been handed down by fashionistas since the 1970s and are covetable and prized, Francesco Maccapani Missoni, the son of designer Angela Missoni, feels the same way about the family's distinctive recipes. With a healthy respect for tradition, Francesco has collected his parents' and grandparents' favorites. For the first time, The Missoni Family Cookbook chronicles the Missoni culinary tradition, making these delicious, well-guarded family recipes available to the home cook. Beyond the glitz and glamour of the family known so well through fashion, you can now be at home-and a tavola-with the Missonis.

Textiles and Fashion explores the integration of textile design with fashion, showing the many ways designers use fibre, fabric construction and surface treatments within a garment and on the body. It begins with a brief history of textiles in fashion, showing the links with technical innovation and social developments. You'll then briefly learn about the processes of textile design, including ethical and environmental considerations, as well as fibre production, dyeing and finishin techniques, before moving on to making the most of different surface treatments and the ways in which colour and trend influence fashion and textiles. This 3rd edition includes updated coverage of emerging technologies, including smart textiles and 3D printing, and interviews with fashion designers to offer insight into how they use textiles in their work. Overall, this is the ideal introduction to using textiles within a fashion context.

'I've long wished perfumery to be taken seriously as an art, and for scent critics to be as fierce as opera critics, and for the wearers of certain "fragrances" to be hissed in public, while others are cheered. This year has brought Perfumes: The Guide by Luca Turin and Tania Sanchez, which I breathed in, rather than read, in one delighted gulp.' Hilary Mantel, Guardian Perfumes: The Guide is the culmination of Turin's lifelong obsession and rare scientific flair and Sanchez's stylish and devoted blogging about every scent that she's ever loved and loathed. Together they make a fine and utterly persuasive argument for the unrecognised craft of perfume-making. Perfume writing has certainly never been this honest, compelling or downright entertaining.

This book is dedicated to the complex artistic trajectory of Chiara Fumai, who played a significant role in the development of performance and feminist aesthetics in the twenty-first century and who died prematurely in 2017, at the age of only thirty-nine. Conceived as a critical monograph on Fumai?s work as a visual artist, performer, DJ and music curator, 'Poems I Will Never Release' is the first volume to trace the entirety of her artistic path: from her scathing video performances and large-scale installations, to her more intimist practices of automatic writing and collage and her incursions into music.0Almost 500 pages long, the volume is divided into three main chapters. The first of these brings together essays by prominent writers, curators and artists who examine Chiara Fumai?s work from various perspectives, highlighting its intersections with anarchism, feminism, ideological forms and discourses of power and oppression, the animal rights movement, theater, surrealism and esotericism. The second chapter presents an imposing iconographic apparatus that documents Chiara Fumai?s entire artistic production, from 2007 to 2017, while the third offers an exhaustively detailed chronology and bibliography.
