Gracie Porter’s life is in a tangle. Her television cookery show is flailing and her boyfriend’s affections are waning. It's time for a change... Best friend Faith rescues her place on the small screen when she unwittingly lands them both starring roles in a steamy spin-off that becomes an instant hit. The new show is more about relationships, sex and stonking big vegetables than cooking. Throw in a fluctuating crush on her surprisingly irresistible agent, Harry Hipgrave, an unlikely friendship with a pair of D-list models and a gossip journalist intent on making her life miserable, Grace wonders if becoming famous is all it’s cracked up to be? Romantic, utterly uplifting and poignant, perfect for the fans of Sophie Kinsella and Lucy Diamond. What readers are saying about Look At Me Now: 'Funny, romantic, uplifting and really well written. Target. Observe. Ridicule. You run into them every day—the striped-shirt guy, the karaoke master, the dude with a pencil-thin beard, the guy who won’t shut up about his fantasy football team—characters who annoy, irritate, and incense us all. Based on the wildly popular essay on ThePhatPhree.com by Mike Polk, this book is a look inside the heads of the most infuriating douchebags on Earth. It’s the best of ThePhatPhree.com plus more than fifty all-new, hilarious pieces written by some of your favorite writers from this site. Everyone’s (Least) Favorite, The Striped-Shirt Guy … I will valet tonight! I will treat the valet with contempt and make sure that he knows that I am superior to him. I will tell him, “Take it easy on the brakes, champ”! When I do not hook up with a girl at the club, I will say that the place is “full of skanks” and wait in line at another bar, only to strike out again! Your “Cool” High School Teacher … Here are some things I allow in my class that other teachers don’t: eating, drinking, swearing, dancing, smoking, fighting, cell phones, Texas hold ’em, iPods, and sex. Like my Goo Goo Dolls tee? Anyone else here down with the Dolls? No? Me either. I’m just wearing it as a goof. The Guy with Amazing Taste in Music … Personally, I haven’t listened to the radio in fifteen years. If you have ever heard a band on the radio, then I can assure you, I am not a fan. I stopped listening to American music about ten years ago.

"Clouther’s first collection of stories shows an 'old' talent—meaning, his sophistication in treatment and technique and his wise observations of the human condition have the feel of an author who has the experience of several story collections behind him."—Booklist, starred review "Sharply observed."—Toronto Star "The 10 entries in Clouther’s debut collection all display a sure–handed grasp of craft."—Publishers Weekly In this striking debut collection, characters find unexpected moments of profound insight while navigating the monotony of daily life. "Your life isn't over." My dad says this. "I mean, YOUR life isn't over. Beyond the kids. You'll go on living, doing things. This isn't it." I know, I assure him. I have the kids. They need me. They're my life now. "OK," he replies, then grunts—more of a brief hum. He only hums when he thinks I'm full of shit. Shockingly single. Amy Biancolli's life went off script more dramatically than most after her husband of twenty years jumped off the roof of a parking garage. Left with three children, a three-story house, and a pile of knotty psychological complications, Amy realizes the flooding dishwasher, dead car battery, rapidly growing lawn, basement sump pump, and broken doorknob aren't going to fix themselves. She also realizes that "figuring shit out" means accepting the horrors that came her way, rolling with them, slogging through them, helping others through theirs, and working her way through life with love and laughter. Amy Biancolli is an author and journalist whose column appears in the Albany Times Union. Before that, Amy served as film critic for the Houston Chronicle where her reviews, published around the country, won her the 2007 Comment and Criticism Award from the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Association. Biancolli is the author of House of Holy Fools: A Family Portrait in Six Cracked Parts, which earned her Albany Author of the Year. Amy lives in Albany, New York, with her three children.

At one time, Kyd was a high roller, a feared and respected kingpin drug dealer in Boulder, Colorado. Now, after twelve weeks in the Boulder County Jail, eight weeks in rehab, and six months in a Florida halfway house, he must face the demons in his life as he struggles between conforming to mainstream society and life in the black market. As Kyd heads to Portland, Oregon to live with his mom while his legal issues play out, he re?ects on his life and the events that led up to his arrest in Boulder. Alone, in a solitary vacuum of guilt and remorse, he bares his battered, vulnerable soul as he contemplates the grave consequences he feels his actions have had on the people he truly loved. Kyd struggles as he wonders what makes him di?erent from the good people, the normal people, and is unabashed as he vehemently shares his loathing of society which conditions kids to want, to feel they need all its unrealistic bling to be happy. Shining a light into the darkness that is todays angry, disenfranchised youth, Kyds World lifts the veil exposing their insidious underworld as it jogs back and forth through the life of twenty-?ve-year-old Kyd, a byproduct of twenty-?rst century Americas have-it-your-way generation.

summary Gripping and emotional. That's exactly what you'll find as you read this book; every page will keep you wanting more. This is the kind of book you just can't put down, and I'm sure you're going to want to read it twice. This is a story of a sweet little boy who turned out to be a bad boy, although everyone knows right from wrong. I'm sure as you read through my book, you'll understand what went wrong. From the cover, you can see the sweet little kid that nobody ever looked out for. I can remember when I was about eight years old, walking around the neighborhood looking for a church to go to. It seems I was always alone and on my own, but that doesn't bother me anymore. Not having anyone to count on through the years has made me tough and hard. I guess you could even say hard-core through the years. I've had to learn everything on my own mostly out of necessity. If my car broke down, I fixed it. When the plumbing broke, I fixed it. In fact, there's really not much I can't do, even write a book. I got the idea to write my book from my picture on the cover of this book. I would sit and look at that picture, and the inscription on the bottom "My Precious Bobby," and I would think to myself, What a joke. Nobody ever treated me precious. Or how could so many crazy things happen to one person? So please sit back and enjoy.
