The contemporary world currently faces multi-level challenges, including cross-border migration, economic crises and myriad health issues, including the recent COVID-19 pandemic. Within this wider context of ongoing fluidity, transition and diversity, qualitative research methodologies in psychology are rapidly evolving, featuring innovative ways to examine the dynamic interrelation of societal and psychological processes. The Routledge International Handbook of Innovative Qualitative Psychological Research sets the stage for cutting-edge debates on how innovative approaches in qualitative research in psychology can contribute to tackling current challenges in our society. The handbook depicts innovation in qualitative research in psychology with respect to methodological approaches like visual methods, arts-based research, discursive and narrative approaches, multimodal approaches, and pluralistic/mixed methodology approaches. It addresses a wide range of contemporary, challenging topics at the intersection of the psychological with the societal sphere, like globalization, climate change, digitalization, urbanization, social marginalization, gender and sexism, youth cultures, global mobility and global health risks. The book also includes contributions from various European countries across different fields of psychology, like clinical, health, social, educational, environmental, developmental, organizational, political and media psychology. This is a valuable text for anyone teaching qualitative research courses in psychology as well as in related disciplines like mental health, education and sociology. It will also be of great interest to any qualitative researcher in the behavioral and social sciences wishing to have an overview of the latest developments in the field.

Winner of the Victoria Schuck award given by the American Political Science Association and an Honorable Mention in the Distinguished Book Award given by the Political Economy of World Systems section of the American Sociological Association Globalization may offer modern feminism its greatest opportunity and greatest challenge. Allowing communication and information exchange while also exacerbating economic and social inequalities, globalization has fostered the growth of transnational feminist networks (TFNs). These groups have used the Internet to build coalitions, lobby governments, and advance the goals of feminism. Globalizing Women explains how the negative and positive aspects of globalization have helped to create transnational networks of activists and organizations with common agendas. Sociologist Valentine M. Moghadam discusses six such feminist networks to analyze the organization, objectives, programs, and outcomes of these groups in their effort to improve conditions for women throughout the world. Moghadam also examines how "globalizing women" are responding to and resisting growing inequalities, the exploitation of female labor, and patriarchal fundamentalisms. This book is an important addition to literature exploring feminism as well as to the broader discussion of the impact of transnational social movements and organizations in the globalized world.

This monograph details the entire scientific thought of an influential natural philosopher whose contributions, unfortunately, have become obscured by the pages of history. Readers will discover an important thinker: Burchard de Volder. He was instrumental in founding the first experimental cabinet at a European University in 1675. The author goes beyond the familiar image of De Volder as a forerunner of Newtonianism in Continental Europe. He consults neglected materials, including handwritten sources, and takes into account new historiographical categories. His investigation maps the thought of an author who did not sit with an univocal philosophical school, but critically dealt with all the ‘major’ philosophers and scientists of his age: from Descartes to Newton, via Spinoza, Boyle, Huygens, Bernoulli, and Leibniz. It explores the way De Volder’s un-systematic thought used, rejected, and re-shaped their theories and approaches. In addition, the title includes transcriptions of De Volder's teaching materials: disputations, dictations, and notes. Insightful analysis combined with a trove of primary source material will help readers gain a new perspective on a thinker so far mostly ignored by scholars. They will find a thoughtful figure who engaged with early modern science and developed a place that fostered experimental philosophy.
