Since eternity mankind has been running in search of happiness and equally shying away from sadness or miseries. With every chapter of this book, the Author takes you to a place away from these two ends of duality. The book throws light on how the search of happiness is a futile one. With utmost simplicity, he explains how freedom from both happiness and sadness is the ultimate peace. Author's genius lies in the fact that he does not talk of happiness and sadness as some far off terms and does not throw concepts of 'higher living' to the readers. Rather, he deals with issues in a very simple, personal way and through this book extends an invitation to join the ongoing existential party.

Cricket in the South Pacific is a joyous affair, played among thatched huts, on main roads and beside some stunning beaches. An Ocean of Cricket celebrates the healthy competition and community spirit that cricket inspires in the villages of Vanuatu, the isolated Lau Islands of Fiji, and off the coast of Papua New Guinea. In these exotic environments, the game is a magical mix of the traditional and the tribal. An Ocean of Cricket meets with the cricket enthusiasts and discovers why they do so well in national competitions. It captures in words and stunning photographs the special customs and the extraordinary passion that the islanders have for the game. Join Adam and Barrie Cassidy for a magnificent photographic tour of the grass-roots tournaments, the roadside rubbers and the beachfront battles of cricket, island-style!

A tribute to the finest writers on the game of cricket and an acknowledgement that the great days of cricket literature are behind us. There was a time when major English writers – P. G. Wodehouse, Arthur Conan Doyle, Alec Waugh – took time off to write about cricket, whereas the cricket book market today is dominated by ghosted autobiographies and statistical compendiums. The Picador Book of Cricket celebrates the best writing on the game and includes many pieces that have been out of print, or difficult to get hold of, for years. Including Neville Cardus, C. L. R. James, John Arlott, V. S. Naipaul, and C. B. Fry, this anthology is a must for any cricket follower or anyone interested in sports writing elevated to high art.

Nurtured in the lap of comfort, educated at Eton and Cambridge, the hero of the British sport-loving public, C. T. Studd, whose Cambridge career has been described as "one long blaze of cricketing glory", created a stir in the secular world of his youth by renouncing wealth and position to follow Christ. He was captain of the Eton XI in 1879, and of Cambridge University in 1883, being accorded in the latter year (vide The Cricketing Annual) "the premier position as an all-round cricketer for the second year in succession". The illness of a brother brought him face to face with realities and the transitoriness of worldly riches and fame. He obeyed the divine command, "Go thy way, sell what thou hast and give to the poor ... take up thy cross and follow me", throwing himself into the work which had called him with the same thoroughness and earnestness with which he had learned to "play a straight bat". Henceforward his life was dedicated to the service of God and his fellow men, and the story of his labours and adventures makes an epic of faith and courage against great odds that will be an inspiration to all who rejoice in a tale of high endeavour.
