My object has been a faithful description of my travels through, and residence in Colombia, where I found hospitality beneath every roof, and welcome from every tongue. In that country there is every facility for enterprise, and every prospect of success: man alone is wanting to set the whole machine in motion, which is now inactive, but which, with capital and industry, may be rendered productive of certain advantage, and ultimate wealth.
