I, like many others in this country, was raised very, very poor. Thats not really what this story is about. Actually, thats part of it but the constant moving is the real story. I cant remember all the places I have lived. The longest we ever lived in one place is 5 years. Mostly, it was just a few months. The ironic thing is that most of the moving was in California and each place close to the other. They places were far enough apart we had to attend different schools but on the map, they were close. We lived in tents, under a bridge, along the side of the road. The part about being along the side of the road was when I was very small and have no memories of those times. However, the bridge and the tents, I remember. Its an interesting read.

There really is more to this life than you've been told. We've been demanding our way since day one ... "I want a spouse that makes me happy and coworkers that always ask my opinion." "I want weather that suits me and traffic that helps me and government that serves me." Self-promotion. Self-preservation. Self-centeredness ... "It's all about me." They all told us it was, didn't they? And we took them up on it. We thought self-celebration would make us happy ... But believing that has created chaos -- noisy homes, stress-filled businesses, cutthroat relationships. We've chased so many skinny rabbits, says Max Lucado, that we've missed the fat one: the God-centered life. If you want to shift into high gear with purpose, this is it: life makes sense when we accept our place! Our pleasures, our problems, our gifts and talents ... when they're all for the One who created us, we suddenly gain what we've been missing and find what we've been seeking. Let Max Lucado show you how to make the shift of a lifetime. How to bump your life off self-center. How to be changed and experience the meaning-charged life you were meant to have. Your discovery starts here.

Pop culture and psychobabble tell us to make ourselves the center of the universe in order to be happy. Churches have communicated the false idea that God exists to give us all that we selfishly want. In this book, Max Lucado reminds us that it's not about us, it's all about God. It is through this shift in thinking that we can truly live an unburdened, happy life.

In today’s society couched in secularism, relativism, and general moral decline, many people may have lost a sense of sin and are struggling to embrace the importance of spiritual healing. Thankfully God always welcomes us back to experience God’s merciful and healing love. In an uplifting and deeply spiritual presentation, retired priest William Kremmell underscores a basic truth of Christian faith: that our God is a God of unconditional, all-embracing love and forgiveness for all people, revealed in Jesus. Throughout his study, Father Kremmell examines why God’s love is everlasting, why we are all sinners, the major reasons why Catholics do not approach the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and the reasons why they should return to this grace-filled experience—all while helping believers find a healthy sense of sin, a new appreciation of the God who is love, and a better understanding of the Sacrament as a sign of God’s merciful presence and life-giving power in our lives. It’s All about God’s Love is a retired priest’s exploration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation and why it needs to be renewed and restored as an integral element of the spiritual journey of today’s Catholic.
