There have been five volumes of registers for St. John's Parish of Dubuque. They cover the years 1847-1868, 1868-1899, 1899-1911, 1911-1956, and 1957 to date. Unfortunately, the second volume covering the years 1868-1899 was burned in a fire while in the possession of a vestryman many years ago. Those covering 1899 and later were indexed in 1971. The earliest volume (1847-1868) does not contain index pages, so this index has been compiled separately.
