I got my inspiration for my book through working with children for over twenty years, and a desire which has been burning for a long time to start writing. I have over time become aware of a need of more safety awareness amongst the very young. By bringing their attention to certain important aspects, like holding Mummy's hand when they cross the road through stories that are enjoyable to read, then maybe children and their parents might decide to take note. The story also reinforces the comforting aspect of just simply having a hand to hold when sometimes all that is needed is a bit of reassurance.
