Abstract: Findings and progress of research on thiamin are described in a variety of papers presented at a 1982 conference. The major areas of research addressed are: chemistry and metabolism; thiamin antagonists; enzymatic synthesis and breakdown of thiamin phosphates; thiamin pyrophosphate-requiring enzymes; thiamin and carbohydrate metabolism; and physiologic, metabolic, neurologic and medical aspects of thiamin.
