The second edition of Housekeeping Management is written from a management perspective of the executive housekeeper in the lodging industry. The overarching concept of the text spotlights three major areas of expertise required for the success of lodging professionals: management of resources, administration of assets, and knowledge of technical operations. The text explores the role of the housekeeping department in hotel/lodging operations, and focuses mainly on the effective communication between the housekeeping, front office, and engineering and maintenance staff. This edition will have the same focus on the management- and administration-based philosophy from the 1st Edition, but with a stronger focus on the engineering aspects of housekeeping. The book also incorporates new concepts of energy conservation and risk management to address the latest sustainability and security trends in the industry, as well as updated information on guestroom technology.

The demand for residential communities for seniors rises as the U.S. population continues to age. This growth means that new administrators and staff members often are learning by trial and error the complicated task of delivering high-quality and consistent services to elderly persons. While many new facilities have been successful, others have been plagued by a variety of administrative and financial difficulties. Senior Living Communities remains the definitive guide to managing these facilities. In this thoroughly updated and revised edition, Benjamin W. Pearce offers a wealth of sound advice and practical solutions. He discusses resident relations, operating methods, staffing ratios, department management, cost containment, sales and marketing strategies, techniques of financial analysis, budgeting, and human resources. New chapters address issues particular to dementia care and architecture, and the appendix contains a department-by-department audit of senior living operations. From the front lines to the boardroom, this book should be a part of every decision-making process for improving and maintaining assisted living, congregate, and continuing care retirement communities.

My Testimony of Jesus Christ I bear witness of Jesus Christ. My testimony of him has increased over time. Before my conversion to his church, (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). My testimony was limited. The Bible has always been a great source of strength and knowledge for me. However, my understanding of his life, ministry, crucifixion, and resurrection became more clear after reading from the book of Mormon (another witness of Jesus Christ). The book of Mormon is scripture that was written by ancient prophets who lived with their people on the other side of the world—in the western hemisphere. The Bible teaches us of the life and mission of Jesus Christ and of his birth, life, death, and resurrection. It tells us of his ascension to his father in heaven. The book of Mormon is a second witness of the savior Jesus Christ. It tells of his ministry to his children and confirms everything the Bible teaches. This does not distract from the witness of the Bible but stands as an additional second witness and knowledge of his life and mission on earth. A mission that includes all people on the earth. Latter-day revelation, given by the Prophet Joseph Smith, the prophet of the restoration of the gospel, in our day, has enriched my testimony of the savior. I testify that Jesus is the Christ. The only begotten son of the father in the flesh. He is my Lord and Savior. He is the Lord and Savior of all mankind. I love him. I bear this my witness in the Holy name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
