Every successful business needs to have turnaround tactics in its arsenal. When a business is struggling, it's these tactics that will turn the tide. Everyday Turnaround tells the tale of a turnaround CEO of a fictional organization who uses agile tactics such as kaizen and scrum to achieve success. Author Eric Kish developed and tested the Everyday Turnaround concept while executing 12 turnarounds across seven industries and three continents over a period of 18 years. From the introduction: "The guy who hired me to do my first turnaround was very smart. He gave me on average 18 months to complete a turnaround and then, overnight and with no warning, would move me to the next one. And he would not allow me to take any of the people I trained and coached in the previous one. This became a ritual for the next 10 years and resulted in 7 successful turnarounds. "I had very little time, if any, to prepare for the next turnaround. I had to get my bearings on the spot and 'fly the airplane while it was being built'. This meant that while discovering and developing assumptions I needed to act and have the organization follow. And I also knew that the day will come when I will move on overnight and will leave behind a leadership team and an organization that can fly 'the airplane' without me."

When Christ taught, many times He used the inner workings of peoples occupations to help make a spiritual principle more understood. These earthly examples can guide us to heavenly revelations, to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to God. May this book guide you in such a way. Pastor Mark Stermer, Senior Pastor of The Church I have a mechanical background, and after reading this book I see how God works through everyday practices to reveal His will for our lives by using practical things we use every day. John Scott Pace As an engineer, I am trained to think about things scientifically. I need to see or hear the problem in order for it to be real. There is no faith involved in my field. While this works well for chemical processes, man cannot survive on reason alone. We need to be replenished by something much greater than ourselves. I believe that God is the answer to what our souls are always seeking. Jamie Gregory This book has such a practical approach to living a Christian life with our many everyday challenges from a workplace viewpoint. Gary Ellington I was encouraged while reading this devotional, for I too am an instrument technician and I was able to relate. God is able to teach and encourage us even as we work our daily job. A heartbreaking, honest, and downright funny novel about loss and recovery "She lay pinned in the back seat listening . . . to the sounds of help that had come too late." Six months ago a terrible car accident devastated Emily Racine. Not only did she lose her older brother, Jon, but her own injuries prevented her from doing the thing she loved best: dancing. Now, just as Emily is getting on her feet again, she receives another blow: her parents want to sell their house, which they feel is too full of sad memories. But the cellar of this house is the only place where Emily can still feel and speak to Jon--and she can't bear to lose him twice. Emily tries hard to prevent the sale, often with humorous results. Yet as the months pass she comes to realize that change may not always be a bad thing. With lots of love and support she finds a way to say good-bye to her brother and her cherished childhood dream. By turns heartwrenching and hilarious, Sis Deans's moving novel will resonate long after the last page has been read.

This manuscript was written during a time right after the death of my husband. I found it to be comforting to journal each day instead of talking constantly with another person. Years ago, I found writing to be an avenue to the many issues that evolved in my life. While writing, I often found that making decisions became clearer and the answers flowed smoothly. This particular transition in my life after the death of my husband compelled me to sit quietly and write about my feelings and my thoughts as the days passed by. This writing only became a manuscript because so many people asked me to put my writing in a book form. Because I embraced the death of my husband, I knew there would be a certain amount of grief and sadness. I was not prepared for his death or for becoming a widow so soon. I had planned to retire, and Charles had already retired. We were planning to travel across the United States and enjoy our lives. Well, to my shock, I would never get the opportunity to visit many of the states with my husband. The biggest area of this transition was trying very hard to accept the position of widowhood, which I am still in the process of coping with. My journaling did not cease with this short manuscript. As you can see, I wrote about my emotions and the happening of each day. I dont believe I would be the person I am today if it had not been for my writings.

Edgar Allan Poe, arguing that brevity and intensity were the essence of poetry, declared there was no such thing as a long poem. It can also be said there is no difference between a short and a long poem except duration: a measure of time. Time in Time examines what the difference really is, and investigates the interplay of short and long forms in contemporary poetry. Moving beyond the opposition of lyric and experimental schools, Time in Time constructs a history of recent North American efforts to bring about a more open poetic form. Contributors explore ways in which the work of Louis Zukofsky, William Carlos Williams, Jackson Mac Low, George Oppen, Hannah Weiner, A.R. Ammons, Marjorie Perloff, Erín Moure, Ron Silliman, and Kenneth Goldsmith reconceives, reframes, and sometimes interknits the possibilities of short and long poems. In doing so, the collection offers insight into the affiliative networks and inter-generational lines of avant-gardism on the continent. Attuned to the surprising reversals and unstable categories of the period, Time in Time illuminates the ongoing encounter of literary creativity with the limits and possibilities of form. Contributors include Adam Dickinson (Brock University), Kerry Doyle (York University), Rachel Blau DuPlessis (Temple University), Steve McCaffery (SUNY Buffalo), Erín Moure (Montreal), Michael O'Driscoll (University of Alberta) Jennifer Russo (City University of New York Graduate Center), and J. Mark Smith (Grant MacEwan University).
