This report presents a cost analysis of Ammonia production from natural gas. The ammonia synthesis portrayed is based on a chemical looping process, a novel plant configuration reported in the literature. In the process examined, oxygen carrier particles are circulated within a chemical looping comprising three reactors, respectively fed by steam, natural gas and steam. The outlet from the looping reactors is passed through compression and water separation steps to generate pure streams of nitrogen, hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Nitrogen and hydrogen are reacted to generate Ammonia. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: NH3, Ammonia, Chemical Looping, Novel Process, Oxygen Carrier

This report presents a cost analysis of secondary Chlorine production from hydrogen chloride. The process examined is similar to the ThyssenKrupp Uhde hydrogen chloride electrolysis process. In this process, a hydrogen chloride solution in water is decomposed electrolytically in a diaphragm cell, producing Chlorine. Hydrogen is generated as by-product This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): "Chlorine", Ullmann's Encyclopedia of Industrial Chemistry, 7th edition Keywords: Secondary chlorine, hydrogen chloride waste treatment, HCl, cholrine recovery

This report presents a cost analysis of para-Xylene production from toluene. The process examined is a selective toluene disproportionation process (STDP). In this process, toluene undergoes a selective disproportionation reaction to produce xylenes (mainly p-Xylene) and benzene. Then, benzene is separated as a by-product and p-Xylene is recovered in a crystallization unit. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): (1) US Patent 7230152, issued to UOP in 2007 (2) US Patent 4097543, issued to ExxonMobil in 1978 Keywords: Mixed Xylenes, C8 Aromatics, PX-Plus, Badger/Niro
