Excerpt from Descriptive Price-List of Gladioli: Greenville, Ohio The gladiolus is growing in popularity, and many amateurs who grew only a few dozen formerly, now grow them by the hundred. No late summer flower is so well adapted to so many uses. As a cut flower it is outstanding and unequalled. If cut when first buds cpen, the later buds open up from day to day for a week or more and by planting them at' inter vals of a few weeks from the time of 'the first planting until June the first, in the latitude of central Ohio, one may have them from middle of July until October frosts; Anyone able to grow cabbage or potatoes can grow them, and they require no more attention in their care in storage in the winter than potatoes. It would be vain for me to enlarge on their vir tues, seeing them at their best in the showroom or better yet in the field, is almost sure to make enthusiastic glad fans. I only wish that everyone of you could visit my place in-bloom ing' time and enjoy them with me. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
