William Adams (1594-1661) and his family settled at Cambridge, Massachusetts, before 1635. He was the father of seven children, ca. 1620-ca. 1642. The family moved to Ipswich, Massachusetts, before 1642. Record lists and children and grandchildren of each generation but chiefly follows line of descent to Madeline Adams Whitehead. Madeline Adams (1913-1994) was born in Paris Township, Linn County, Kansas, the daughter of Robert Clyde Adams (1885-1955) and Harriet [Hattie] Mapes Adams (1883-1918). Her family moved to Corvallis, Oregon, ca. 1939. She married Charles Edward Whitehead, son of William Henry Whitehead (1882-1919) and Blance Eaton Whitehead (1883-1911) at Kansas City in 1936. They settled at Los Angeles, California. They had three daughters, 1941-1945.
