Sir Robert Crosse was born in Charlinch, Somerset, England in about 1552. He married Olyve Turner in 1576 in London. They had eight children. A possible descendant, Silvester Crosse, son of John Crosse and Margaret Wright, was born in about 1638. He emigrated in about 1682 and settled in Charleston, South Carolina. Traces descendants of this and other Crosse and Cross families, primarily in Maryland, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisiana, Indiana and Texas. The author believes these families are related but has not been able to prove it in every case.

George Heinrich Weidner was born 9 October 1717 in Pennsylvania or Germany. He was the son of Peter Weidner and Catherine (surname unknown). Peter and Catherine likely immigrated to America and landed at the port of Philadelphia ca. 1717. George married Catharina Mull ca. 1749 in Upper Hanover Township, Montgomery Co., Pennsylvania. They lived in North Carolina and were the parents of eight known children. Descendants lived primarily in North Carolina and Missouri.

Joseph Elias Carroll was born 25 September 1781 in York District, South Carolina. His parents were Joseph Carroll (1746-1803) and Martha Swancey (1752-1849). He married Isabella Henry (1788-1840), daughter of William Henry and Rosannah Moore. They had thirteen children. Joseph died 18 August 1860 in Louisiana, Missouri. Ancestors, descendants and relatives lived mainly in Ireland, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Missouri.
