Have you ever stood in a worship service and found it hard to sing about Gods love because you felt disconnected by the circumstances of living? Many of us know all the right answers about Gods love and his authority, but we find it difficult to see it applied in a practical way in our lives because we are broken by the acts of others, traumas of sickness and loss, or our own failures. Our Broken Hallelujahs is a poetic and beautiful look at how Gods love reaches into the brokenness of your life to empower you. Rebecca shares her personal story, biblical examples, and the stories of how others have found a hallelujah in the broken places of life. Her prayer is that this study will help you to find a voice to sing your own hallelujah.

A Broken Hallelujah traces a young man's path through the Christian Brothers' regime from Juniorate through the Leaving Certificate year to Teacher Training, and from there to work on the mission. The author describes in intimate detail the experiences and challenges he faces on the way, culminating in the final and most difficult decision of all, whether or not to remain in the fold of the Brothers' Congregation. This unique story recalls a type of education which has long since passed out of use, and has become, for many, a piece of history in itself. In detailing his experiences, the author describes the dilemmas faced by a great number of people, dilemmas which reflect many of the choices and difficulties that have shaped the Ireland of today.

Where Is God? There are never quick fixes or easy answers when it comes to suffering. But even when we can't immediately see God's hand—when the struggle is hard and painful—he is working. Weaving together Scripture, personal stories, and the words of the classic hymn "How Firm a Foundation," David Powlison brings an experienced counselor's touch to exploring how God enters into our sufferings, helping us see God working in our own particular struggles—and discover how God's grace goes deeper than we could ever imagine.

Many young people in King County, Washington, are not connected to churches, schools, workplaces, and other organizations. Many of them live in povertyand they also lack education, skills, and spiritual care. They can be seen as dropouts from school and as homeless persons sleeping on business doorsteps, under trees, on sidewalks, and elsewhere. In this thesis project, Julie Lamay Vaughn, founder of Hope Angels Ministry, argues that marginalization occurs when people are systematically excluded from meaningful participation. As a result, they never get the chance to fulfill themselves as human beings. The thesis project seeks to answer questions such as: What are King County community leaders doing to help young adults who are marginalized? Why are young people marginalized in a variety of situations? What emotional and spiritual needs are being left unfilled? Lamay also shares qualitative and quantitative data as well as interviews from marginalized individuals. As a result of her findings, she will be equipped to provide greater spiritual care to those who need it the most.
