It's sixty-five million years ago. In the wild treacherous landscape of ancient North America, dinosaurs and many other species struggle daily to survive. Each of these creatures have their own stories, and this collection of tales takes place before and during the events of Bladefoot. Preston the baby troodon, who learns fast to reach adulthood and follows in Bladefoot's footsteps. Axel the young dakotaraptor, who strives to earn his place in the pack. Flo the elasmosaurus, who must navigate an ocean filled with deadly predators. Tyler the mosasaurus, the blood-thirsty killer of the Pierre Seaway. Sky Rider the Quetzalcoatlus, the winged giant that masters the air. Rumble the triceratops, and his great ambitions to rule his own herd. Cutter the wounded troodon, who tries to find peace at a waterhole, but will receive anything but... All these stories have climatic endings, although some individuals will be more fortunate than others.

It's been two years since the destruction of both the Gangster Federation, and Lord Magnus, in Saints City. Daniel Stone, better known to the criminal underworld as the Black Mamba, still continues his amoral mercenary profession for both the British Government and independent clients. The Black Mamba's main weapon is modified non-lethal snake neurotoxin, which not only paralyses his victims, but provokes repentance. When the Black Mamba is recruited by MI6 to bring down a Colombian cocaine baron in the Peruvian Amazon, what starts as a simple mission soon becomes extremely complicated, and deadly. The situation is convoluted further with the arrival of a mysterious doppelganger of the Black Mamba, who claims to have been wronged by him in the past, and is now on a determined hunt for revenge. With so many various adversaries, the chances of survival are slim - even for someone as skilled as the Black Mamba.

Shield Construction Techniques in Tunnelling presents the latest on this fast, environmentally-friendly and relatively safe construction technique, reflecting on its technical risks and challenges as seen in China. Sections introduce the type of shields, the history of the technique, shielding principles, selection, management, the latest techniques in operation, consider engineering cases, discuss construction in gravel, soft-soil, composite, and rock strata, and present video clips of construction that are accessible through QR codes embedded in the text. The book combines theory and practical experience, giving the reader unique insights into shield equipment and construction techniques. The shield tunneling technique is being used very widely, particularly in China, which is building urban-rail transit systems at an unparalleled scale and speed. The use of tunneling-shields provides a fast, relatively-safe, and ecologically-friendly method for the construction of tunnels. However, a number of incidents have shown the risks involved in tunnelling through geologically complex areas. - Gives the principles and practice of shield construction techniques, including shield selection and operation - Demonstrates the latest technologies in shield construction that can be applied in practice - Reflects on the technical risks and challenges of shield construction, based on extensive use of the technique for tunnel construction in China - Discusses challenges in construction in gravel, soft-soil, composite and rock strata - Provides engineers with applicable insights into shield equipment and construction techniques

The Next Generation Information Technologies and Systems (NGITS) wo- shop series is a biannual event held in Israel since 1993. Like its predecessors, NGITS’99 brings together active members of the international research com- nity interested in information technology and knowledge based systems. Many of the base technologies in the traditional areas of database management systems, information retrieval, and resource optimization, are being deployed nowadays in novel systems and applications that ?ourish with the astonishing increase in computational power, storage capacity, communication, and - of course - the advent of the world-wide web. These new fronts, in turn, present an ever gr- ing set of challenges to the technologies, such as data availability, information integrity, and knowledge extraction, fuelling an exciting set of activities. Our workshop clearly re?ects this trend, o?ering a rich sample of the state of the art at the close of the millennium and a glimpse of what is to come in the next one. In response to the call for papers, we received 34 high quality submissions, 22 of which were carefully selected by the Program Committee for presentation at the workshop and inclusion in these proceedings. These include 17 full length papers as well as 5 short papers (that will be accompanied by demonstrations during the workshop). In addition, it is our pleasure to feature two invited talks, given by Professor J. Ullman of Stanford University and IBM Fellow C. Mohan.
